Re: List of hard to distinguish FWB and 4th Edition Cards

Here is Nachtmahr (Nightmare). Left is FWB; right is 4th Edition. Identification is based on the a careful comparison of the heights of card names, supplemented by the presence or absence of the black dot on back, and a slight difference in color. No differences in wording are apparent. This one's p...

Re: List of hard to distinguish FWB and 4th Edition Cards

Now it's the question whether there are dot and no-dot variants of all cards or if the sheets were just missing the dot on a few slots. I suspect it's the latter. I have somewhere around 40 white-bordered Italian cards that I can easily identify through other means (the 'i' or 'j' in the card name,...

Re: List of hard to distinguish FWB and 4th Edition Cards

Here is Zorn Gottes (Wrath of God). Left is FWB; right is 4th Edition. Identification is based on a careful comparison of the heights of the card names. No other differences are very obvious. The best indicator I've spotted here is the 'i' in the word "im" in the rules text. On the 4th Edition card,...

Re: List of hard to distinguish FWB and 4th Edition Cards

Here is Kreuzzug (Crusade). Left is FWB; right is 4th Edition. Identification is based on the height of the descender in the 'g' in the card name. No other differences are obvious.

Re: List of hard to distinguish FWB and 4th Edition Cards

Voluntarily, the black dot variants are explained here: http://greendisenchantproject.jimdo.com/dot-print-variants/ Italian FWB cards always have it, Italian FWB never. Very interesting! I have examined my white-bordered Italian cards and there does seem to be a strong correlation between the dot a...

Re: List of hard to distinguish FWB and 4th Edition Cards

Thank you, Tosta, you are welcome to post more singles missing on the list so that we have more material to spot the sets. I'm working on it presently. In the meantime, can you elaborate on something you said above? Did you check them for the black dot on the back? I don't see any other mention of ...

Italian does NOT show the same difference! Both Italian sets use slashes on 'i' and 'j'. The way to tell them apart is the copyright line at the bottom. Revised is in bold font, 4th edition is not. Also for red cards, the text is white in Revised and black in 4th. This is incorrect. The dots in Ita...

The reason for the different product codes is the two decks were designed to be sold in different types of st...

I'm in the Eastern United States, and I got these packs in a collection. I don't have a good idea where they would have come from.
