Oh... that's terribly sad news. Gary was such a great guy and so helpful with fellow collectors and enthusiasts. His stories of the earliest days of MtG were simply fascinating. He was such a gift to the Magic community.
RIP Gary... you will be missed.

Sad to hear... was hoping I was wrong. He signed a few cards for me years ago through the mail. Seemed like a nice guy. The post I linked showed a Dragon magazine cover he illustrated... I instantly recognized it as one I loved back in the day (still have it).

Yeah, it happens whether I know or don't, so it's good to learn the truth. Still doesn't make it any less sad, though....
Thanks for keeping us up to date, even if it's tough (especially this year).
Best wishes,
Jared

Ugh... I'm going to have to quit logging in here... makes me sad.
Martin McKenna was such a great guy - always signed for me back in the day. He will be missed.

Re: The Gathering Original Sketch Cards available for sale
Hey Spooky,
Gosh, I remember images everywhere when the Kickstarter was going... funny how things can disappear even in a digital age.
I didn't get the full set; only the book and the 6 cards that came with it (2 originals and 4 prints). Best of luck in your search!!!

BTW, I threw in a few bids - probably won't win but might help drive up the price for you.

HeY AbsolutAlphas,
Alas I don't have anything like that lying around, but best of luck on your project.
PS - good to hear from you... always like it when an "old timer" pops in again.

Re: Compilation of Garfield altered text cards
Hey Zaphodava, Awesome thread and worthy endeavor - thanks for starting it. =D> I was at GenCon in '95 and I remember a giveaway at the WotC booth where they had a bunch of cards altered by Richard Garfield. One of the employees stood in front of the crowd and read off what each card was altered to,...

Thanks for the info - I just hopped on the Kickstarter myself. =D> =D> Don't waste your time on the drama GlobalBoosterHunter... life is too short. Terese is a very nice person and I love her art. Dig deep enough on anyone and you'll find something you don't like - not worth the trouble. Take it eas...
