Re: Grading of Magic cards

I think you are confusing "grading" with "valuation".
Indeeed I did,  sorry for the misunderstanding.

I didn't earn the name Mr Pid for nothing.

Re: Grading of Magic cards

Sports cards are a little different than M:tG cards.  Sports cards have no functionality other than people just wanting to look at them.  Their only value is collector value.  M:tG (and all other CCG) cards have a functional use within the game they are designed for.  Collectors ...

Re: Rants on eBay and Paypal problems.

Never accept off-eBay offers of any kind.  Whether it's someone offering to sell you something, or someone offering to buy from you.  People offering to sell stuff will normally just steal the money.  People offering to buy normally use a stolen credit card or a fake check. There are ...

Re: Homelands Release Event Admission Cards

Hi Stu. The Number 1 just goes with the word Admit  ;) What's important it that they make a puzzle representing the Invitational Card or the Poster. I have sent you a PM. I was actualy refering to the "I" on the info side of the cards between where it says "Magic the Gathering" and where it says "...

Re: Rants on eBay and Paypal problems.

Both eBay and PayPal (which is owned by eBay) try to downplay the amount of fraud that goes on.  EBay should make it mandatory that all users read through the "Trust & Safety" discussion board.  I have found that it's the best resource on eBay.   Most of the posters giving advice there are seller...

Re: Homelands Release Event Admission Cards

Ice Age was before Homelands. One interesting thing about the cards is that they all have the big I on the back.  Apparently, at that time Wizards started numbering all of their major events.  This was the first one they numbered.  I don't know how long they kept up with this numberin...

Re: Rippled Cards

Ralph,

Thanks again for helping with the images.  I thought some people would be interested in seeing these cards. I just overestimated my ability to deliver the images properly.

Re: Homelands Release Event Admission Cards

Thanks Ralph,

I was having a bit of a tough time getting these images to upload.  Computers and I don't always see eye-to-eye.  They seem to like mocking me  alot.

I spent about 2 hours trying to get this to work properly, and apparently it only works for me when I'm signed into my Yahoo account.

Rippled Cards

Here is a printing defect that I don't think I have seen anywhere else.  These cards all came out of packs that I opened. It looks like there was some kind of ripple in the sheet they were cut from, and you can follow the ripple across the three cards - it shows you where they were in relaton t...

Homelands Release Event Admission Cards

Last week, I had alluded in one of my posts about some scans I was going to post.  Well, I've finally harnessed enough of my not-so-computer-savvy skills to get everything together. For those interested, here is the story behind them.  Back around 1996 or 1997, I bought a box of random car...
