As a postscript, many times a crimp happens because the top card in a stack of cards slides a bit, either forward or backward, compared to the rest of the cards in the stack. This is why there are sometimes top crimps and sometimes bottom crimps. If only one card slides, if it slides enough, and if ...

If you ever saw a packaging line, it is a continuous process. Giant rolls of printed film are fed in at one end. You might have seen segments of these films offer for sale on places like Ebay (I once had a 35 ft length of Tempest packaging film, and a smaller piece of Visions film, I purchased there...

Can it happen? sure! There are many ways cards get cut from sheets. Some cards go through continuous rectangular cutters. These are like huge arrays of cookie cutters that cut the top, bottom, and both sides simultaneously (if stamping) or continuously (if on an embossed roll). For card sheets the s...

Alexis,

I will try to find my playmats from that show, as they will likely have similar art from the same artists.

I have a theory on Hurr Jackel. Everyone assumes that US Playing Card Company printed Alt 4th exactly the same way that Carta Mundi did. That would result in equal numbers of each rare card. I have also noted the anomalous amounts of Hurr Jackel in circulation. It continues to exist. I noticed it on...

I can give you a few more definitive limits on price. For some added background, in addition to the problems listed above for the set gaining popularity, there is still a great deal of confusion about how much alt. 4th product is out there. It is not as rare as Summer Magic, but there isn't a lot of...

I would also like to note that most of the time theft is not a violent crime. Any decent Magic player should know that stealth and deception are much better tools than brute force. For a successful heist, it is 100 times more effective to get the valuables without being seen. Guns are useless to pro...

I've seen this happen with other collectibles. Collectible coins went from novelties to ridiculous prices. A National show a decade ago had much more than $1 billion on display, with security so tight that even dealers weren't allowed near their booths off-hours. Everyone learned to adapt. Baseball ...

They were give-aways to retail stores that were part of a promotion package for the series depicted. Some were designed to be used as mini posters (taped to storefront windows). Similar products were designed to hang from the ceiling and came with very small holes in their tops. There's a ton of rea...

I have a nightmare jacket, but can't remember if it is black or denim. The jacket is a small size and I'm not any more, so it is packed away.

I have a pair of Onslaught redemption sets, so it certainly went back that far. But I thought it went back much further. I don't think Mercadian Masque was redeemed, but I am pretty sure that by the time Invasion came out you could redeem sets.

I love those bowling rings. My uncle was a great bowler back in the 50's and 60's. He managed to throw a 300 in league competition in New Jersey, and was apparently the only one that did it the year he did. He was given a beautiful gold-plated belt buckle by the New Jersey Bowling Association. They ...
