PS : I'm talking with D. Chang for the Dan Frazier's Mahamoti AP's (all of them except Beta, so that's 7 of them), since Dan unfortunately don't have them anymore. Any idea how much it could be worth ?
about 10x less then what hes asking I'd assume.
I'd keep that in mind
He hasn't given me a price now.
But what would be a fair price for a Beatdown AP or a foreign 4th AP for example ?

Proofs and fair prices are a bit apart these days. But I can say, guessing that you have bought your Beta Mahamoti proof around April this year on the forum, D. Chang was asking almost the same price for Beta Frazier APs as others on the forum have asked me. Not 10x. But in other proofs he goes high, and so do other sellers for popular proofs. And although I am totally against his ways, I must be fair to him on this one...
I still remember what I paid for the set of 7 Mahamoti proofs 3 years ago, but today that would be misleading...

Melissa Benson charges a $50 flat fee for each proof, but you can then send up to 15 cards to be autographed (for free) per artist proof you've paid for.
My question is what are the proofs worth to you?

You're right. If I ever managed to complete my set, I would miss them...
But still, that's almost 200$ for unplayable cards, and very hard to get rid of without losing money if one day I decide to stop Magic.

I must admit we are a bit spoiled from the old days when some artist didn't even care about the proofs and others took them to shows to sell for a few bucks each and would often add sketches on the back.
Times have changed and any Magic card that has only 50 copies made deserves a premium price.
It is a matter of choosing to collect something that hard to get. Are the bragging rights worth it? Only the individual collector can answer that.
I doubt that I will be buying any in the future.

Gary, my example was one end of the spectrum, and I think it was worth it as Melissa autographed my Geisha (an Ultra Ultra rare card from the Flights of Fantasy card set), a Lord of Atlantis JSS Promo, a few Alt. 4th cards, an Empire in Conflict Promo (Galactic Empires CCG), and other rarites from CCG artwork she has done (and yes, I'll make some scans of these cards and the other global sets I'm working on, hopefully within a month!).
Another example is a free set of 4 different signed (Rob Alexander?) Lorwyn APs that I got when I bought a booster box from the artist. I also bought a Worldwake Booster box from Chris Rahn and he sent a complimentary signed Lodestone Golem AP with it.
I agree that it varies widely by artist, the set, the cards, etc.
I have always really liked the artwork for the Shivan Dragon (got the Beatdown AP) and will always associate the card with my falling in love with the game (it and Fire Elemental). I think this AP will be one of the last cards I let go of if I ever get out of MTG.
effai, as with anything else, do and/or go for what you think you will least regret later.

And please don't get me wrong either. I want to see the artists get some money for their work. Most of the time when I ask an artist to sign a pile of cards I just give them an envelope with a green card in it wih a picture of a US president on it. That isn't payment for the sigs, it is appreciation for what they have contributed to the history and flavor of the game.
I never got any complaints....

I have Alpha Playtest versions of both cards. Terror is in a deck, but Djinn is not. Let me know if you want it, maybe we could work something out. Also let me know if you are still interested in the miscut Terror.
