Ha ha ha!!!

Check, someone has bought the "Italian Renaissance Booster Box" on MKM.

So funny.

Thre is another one from Portugal.

(Spy, I'm also interested in one ).

mystical_tutor:
No one knows how many of any given booster still exists
No one knows how many have already been collected or where they are.
No one really knows the value of a given booster.
No one knows how long the present boosters will survive. The rarest are always subject to opening (is there a hurricane in that Summer booster?).
Right Gary!! , but that's means that Some Boosters will be "imposible" to find and some boosters will be over-priced.

New magic collectors would not collect them, for that reason.

The stock will be concentrated in the hands of a few, and the prices will rise.
Like we said "Es como la pescadilla que se muerde la cola".

Do you think, sould we get them all as soon as posible?.

(I do not think on summer one, alpha will be a great challenge =P~ ).

mystical_tutor:
I am not sure how this fits in with the subject of booster collecting.
It is a totally different subject that has been hashed over many times.
Sure, It's just the problem example.

Next mtg set will be "Modern Masters".

Wizards post: "Price will be $6.99 to avoid speculation".

Are they politicians???.

I've asked to a few shops around, but nobody has any leftovers. :(
Thanks for looking!

That looks suspiciously like a booster collection, is there something you want to share with the group...?

It would certainly be helpful if there was another booster collector, but alas, that is not me.

A while back, I decided to collect a global set of the worst set of MtG, and Homelands won the vote. So I have a full global set, along with one of each pack for good measure. During collecting it, I also found out about "The Gathering" event, which was WotC first attempt at a big-scale tournament (and the Homelands prerelease to boot), and it has actually been somewhat difficult to track down all the "Homelands" related stuff from this event. So what I thought was going to be a fun and somewhat easy task, has turned out to be full of surprises.

On a related note, Fallen Empires was a close 2nd in terms of set quality, however collecting global of that seemed too easy.

Kinda sorry you feel that way about FE. I really enjoyed playing with that set. Each color had a strong point and a playable theme.
The bad press about the set was caused because WotC tried to please the customers and the distribution chain. They asked each of the distributors how many the wanted to order and then printed that many--- they never did that again. Peter told me it was, in part, because of the bad press WotC was always getting about not enough product (AN AQ Leg ect.) when in reality some of the distributors were hording product so they could cash in later (I actually saw this in one case).
Most people that I know that actually were there and played with this set thought it had merits. Specially green and the thallid horde. It did have some tough acts to follow though.

Fallen Empires was the first expansion I played with as it was the only one available when I started. I was still primarily a trade card collector so the multiple images made it a bit more interesting but I don't think we ever really added many of the cards to our decks and we never played an FE themed deck.

My friend bought a box for £50 and he was so excited,he figured he would sit on it for a few years and then make a killing, as had been the case with the other expansions. I guess FE was the first expansion not to deliver high returns for the speculators.

I am still sitting on a box of Ice Age which was my first and last attempt at getting a few boxes as an 'investment'

Happy Christmas folks
