Alternate Template MTG Set (fanmade)
I got an email from an ebay seller thanking me for my payment, and with the email he/she included a "digital pack" of a MTG alternate template set they created. It is called The Ancients: Three Kingdoms, and I believe it is card for card the same as Portal: Three Kingdoms (although I only have images of 7 of the cards (pic'd below)

Humm these may be the cards I heard of.
There was an attempt by some in the company to change the format.
One person in the company was strongly opposed to it so the plan was to be implemented while he was away on an extended trip + vacation. An astute staff member alerted him to it and the whole idea was trashed.
I don't think actual cards were ever printed.
Not sure about any of this, just reminiscing and speculating.

Word has it they were going to print each set with different color backs and only some last minute lobbying caused the persons in charge to elect to keep all the card backs the same. Think I read about it in something Dave Howell wrote about his early days with the company and how hectic they were/could be.

Yeah you guys, look at the quality haha.
Also the text for Loyal Retainers is actually WRONG, you can only do that on your pre-combat mainphase. Same thing as Xun Yu, actually.
In fact the term 'activate' as a verb for activating abilities happened at the same time as 'battlefield' which isn't on Loyal Retainers for some reason.
