I saw a few YouTubes on the subject and it does seem the consensus is that he is Trolling.
Too much third party risk. Can you imagine getting a hedge fund to spend millions of dollars on cardboard only for them to be reprinted in response to fan outrage?
I know they said they wouldn't but I don't think this is a legal obligation, only as a way of balancing the game. If it because obvious that a small group of people were damaging the game and players were leaving then it would be in the best interests of the game company to reprint them.

Wondering why so many people made a buzz about it. If I do remember it started when the guy making the latest buy out was compared to him. At any rate not worth to talk about it for me, just free advertising for those guys. IMHO
