I wanted to share my latest art pick-up

Post by ritnecrowin » Wed Feb 06, 2013 4:22 pm

I'm rearranging my living/ home theater and decided I wanted to add a new painting to the room.
Knowing my most desired pieces were out of the question (Angelic Renewal, Capsize and Unfulfiled Desires) I decided to look into a painting by one of my favorite fantasy artist- Stephanie Law...
Sadly, Steph only did three pieces for MTG and all had been sold a long time ago.

After some thought and conversation with my wife, I decided to obtain a commision that 1. was by one of my favorite artists 2. had a meaning 3. was Magic the Gathering inspired.

Steph actually used Angelic Renewal and a few personal photos to draw inspiration from.

The dragon represents me and my love of fantasy art and gaming- My wife is a little red-head that LOVES to read. Also, we have two siamese cats that we consider our children.

I couldn't be happier with the final piece- it's 11x14 and Watercolor... she even let me name it- "Whatcha Reading?"
