Anyone know anything about alpha/beta poster?
I ran into an old alpha/beta complete set poster set--and I have no clue how rare this thing is?? The person claims its like 9 years old and I have no idea what to offer. Basically it shows every card in alpha/beta seta--and changes to text that were made between sets. If someone could email me concerning this I would be interested in knowing its value.

One of these ended on eBay for $150 a few weeks ago.
A forum member sold one to another forum member for $45.
They are relatively rare, though I have no info on print run.

You wouldn't happen to have an item number...I ran completed auction search on 'MTG poster' and didn't find it. Specifically it was a set of 3 posters and each had like 2 colors on it. It had been such a long time since I saw one of these I want to be very sure on the price. One of these ended on eBay for $150 a few weeks ago.

As a matter of fact I do. It was listed as a "print" not a poster:

By the way, if this guy has more than, I am definately interested.

I have access to one of these. I will find out what his price is so we can compare.

Those have been already discussed some time ago.
There have to be some threads about them.
For now i only found one without doing a search.

Re: Anyone know anything about alpha/beta poster?
I have one sitting on a table at home, with some crimps on it (not those kind of crimps, just bends from someone rolling it up and, like, sitting on it or something). There are 3 total posters, of course.
It also comes with paperwork that rate all the cards (Black Lotus and Celestial Prism are both rated at 3 on a five point scale), as well as some articles and a description of the organization.
The poster was created, obstensibly with the permission of WotC, by a group that was acting like a non-profit group to help people complete trades to finish sets of the cards. The poster was to help people identify the cards they don't have. Personally it sounds like a scam, but hey, no clue here. Certainly doesn't sound like a real non-profit org (was called the Charity Foundation).
It says right on it that it's limited to 1000 copies, but I don't know how many were destroyed once WotC got involved.
I got my copy from a fellow board member at GenCon, and found reading the booklet was kinda interesting while waiting for my wife at the doctor's..;-)

They are posters, so no.
Poster, as in 2 feet wide or so by 1.5 feet high, give or take.
Actually, probably larger than that.
Lemme see if I can dig a picture up online, I know I have seen one in the past. Nope, no luck. Anyone else?

My local shop has "em stapled to the wall. I think they're cool. Like posted before, there are 3, limited to 1000 each.

Re: Anyone know anything about alpha/beta poster?
I'm starting to doubt that they are limited to 1000 pieces, and that wizards had most of them sent to them and destroyed. Just in the last few months I've seen like 20+ sets, and with it being such a weird item, I think it's too many ones floating around. I think there's probably more out there :-*
Would make sense too, unless they were numbered, who would notice if they pumped out a few hundred or thousand more? ;D It's not like the "charity foundation" bothered too much about laws, so why be honest with the printing number [smiley=approve.gif]
I would definately not recommend anyone paying amounts like $150 for them on ebay even though they're cool :P
