Excess Ink On Cards
Hi Guys.
I've been posting for a few days now, and I haven't formally introduced myself to the group. My name is Bill, and I am a part owner of a comic book / magic shop in Scarsdale, NY. Probablly one of the greatest things about my job, is that I get to see pretty much every card that comes through the door, as well as the contents of almost every pack opened. I trade with the customers to get cards for the store to sell, but I also trade every time I see some sort of misprint. Well, a long while ago, I got these beauties:

At the time, I had not and I haven't still seen anything else like them. If I hadn't seen the kid open the pack and want a refund for it, I wouldn't have believed it. It looks as if at some point during the printing process they got sprayed with a grey ink, and if you look at the Jilt, you can see it was probablly before the ink had completly dried because the picture is a bit blurry. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever seen such misprints.

If I had seen them without your explanation, I would say it looks more like someone spilled or splattered something on the them after opening them. That is an interesting error.

where is scarsdale with respect to Ithaca?
I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Re: Excess Ink On Cards
Yep, I've seen them. I have a couple series of cards with inking problems like that. One is a set of three Ice Age uncommons (and I know there must be more) that were pulled from separate packs, another is a bunch of Mirage commons where the ink ran out on the back side. I can line up about 10 of them like puzzle pieces, with a few that I can't fit in.I was just wondering if anyone else has ever seen such  misprints.

I've seen them too. Like you said, it is hard to believe that they are real. We become skeptical after awhile, & have a hard time believing such things are legit.
Not that I think that they are fake, but the resale value on those is always hurt due to their questionable legitimacy.
