Mercadian Masques amazing misprint

Post by ende73 » Fri Feb 06, 2004 3:19 pm

Hello everybody, maybe some of you know me from other websites but I'm new here!

I have a Rishadan Cutpurse (Blue Common) from Mercadian Masques which is quite a cool misprint.
The back is perfectly normal, while the front has a double printing on it: the normal card and an upside-down Magic back printed together  :o !
Does anybody have a clue how much this could be worth?
I have scans available if anyone's curious.
Actually I might want to trade it towards high-end "normal" cards.
Thanks

Welcome Enrico!!

@everyone: I recently traded nice stuff with Enrico. He his a very nice collector from Italy and currently helps me in finding the couple of Italian stuff I'm missing.

This MM misprint he talks about is quite impressive. I have seen very of them around and have very little background. Any info on the rarity factor of these would be appreciated.
Squt? Do you have any clue?

I actually have the scan on my home PC and I will try to host it for everyone's viewing pleasure tonight.

:)
Eric.

Hello, I'm in my office now and have the scan on this PC... how do I upload it? (ahhhh... these newbies)
You can create an angelfire account (www.angelfire.com) It's free and grants you with a 20MB webspace.
The only issue is that you have to create a home page in the month following your registration or you'll be shut down.
Then, you log in to angelfire, you click on "Webshell" and there a is there a small upload engine, really easy to use.

Once uploaded, you can provide us with a link or, like AXIOS, you can encapsulate the link into UBB code to have the scan appear on the thread directly.
Later solution looks more sexy but oblige everyone reading the thread to download the images and some of us have slow connections.

If you have any trouble, feel free to e-mail me the scan, I'll upload it.

;)
Eric.

Welcome ende73!

I personally own 5 of these MM misprints, & they rank up there as my favorites. The FE scan above represents a similar situation as the cards we are talking about.

Here is what I have been told, & accept as truth (anyone correct me if I am wrong)- the MM misprints have a normal backing w/ a "back" & "front" on the other side- the MAGIC is upside down when looking at the picture. Only commons were printed this way, that I know of. I have yet to see any duplicates, but then again I've only seen 10 total. I own Charm Peddler, Port Inspector, Sandstone Needle, Sever Soul, & Thermal Glider. The other 5 I saw were just as playable as those I own, I forgot what they were.

Two years ago I saw them for $15 each. This was the last time I saw any for sale anywhere. Perhaps ebay has had a few... I'd imagine they'd go for more.

I'd be interested in trading for it, I'd love to have a total of at least 9 different ones at some point...

Hello everybody.

Thanks to Eric  (erl00) I am finally able to provide a scan of the card I mentioned:

http://www.angelfire.com/magic/erl00/Mi ... tpurse.jpg

Fvzappa, congrats for your collection of these  :o!
I would certainly like to contribute, however I must say I'm looking to trade for a much much higher value than the last Ebay prices you mentioned  :-/

But I'll stop there... maybe we should move to the trading section or I'll be warned like I was on MOTL  >:(

Someone (a shop) got a lot of them (dont know if it was a full common set) and sold some of them at the time by colour at Ebay 6 and 6. (or was it 5)
I havent heard of another set, so it could be only one sheet existing.

I managed to buy one of those, but have traded away all but the Gush.

Looks cool...

By my above post, I certianly didn't mean to imply it was only worth $15... I value it at much more I'd say. I haven't seen any since then, & anything else worthwhile has only gone up in price in the past 2 years.
