7th Edition Jun Minageshi Square Cut

Post by pickle.69 » Thu Jan 20, 2005 4:40 pm

I just went trough my binder and sorted my tokens new and found a crazy-clowns-squirrel-token-7th-series with Square cut bottem right corner.
It`s also a little off center
the pic was moved upwards and rotated counter-clock wise by 2-4°

If anybody is interested please PM me. I got these from Singapour a couple of years ago.

Does anyone else have such a CC- tokens?

Have you got any idea if this is a fake, or an actual authentic minagishi? :o

Have you got other 7th Ed tokens that you KNOW are real?  That way you can compare this miscut one with them.  Personally, I figure its fake also.
YuGI King (or something like that) is a really big Magic seller in Singapore also, and has been selling fakes for the past year.

I got these from
www.asianmagickards.com
normaly Rid is very honest but well this was years ago.
I have no clue anybody who could help to find out if these are real or not please lmk how I can.
I also would be willing to send this to a member who knows how to check it.
I start to feel that I did not do a good deal with these.

PS:
I read this topic but it did not make me smarter.

Hi Members.
I thought,I would share with you the conclusion of the very close examination of the 9 Minagishi Tokens that Richard sent me:6 from the 7Th Series and 3 from the 8Th Series. This is my last PM to him:
Hi Richard.
I went deeper into the examination.None of them are Real, these are Extremely Good Fakes Made in Singapore
90% of the collectors will take them for Real.I do have also a Fake Minagishi 7th Series and 8Th Series and they
match perfectely. This my Hit Parade for the Quality of Fakes:
1-Singapore.
2-China.
3.Italy.Second Generation of Fakes with Brown Border.
How do you see the Difference with Real ones?
The Police on the Front and Textbox is Different.
The Color is Much brighter.
The Cut is sometimes bad done.EX Squirrel Token.
The Cardboard quality is Different.
But the Biggest clue is the back,Real Minagishi Tokens have a Pale Blue color in "Collector's Edition",while the Fakes have a Purple one. Also the back of the Fakes are much Darker than the Real ones.Well,I hope, you did not spend too much on those, most of the Fakes are 2/3$ now while the Same Real Minagishi was sold 10/20$ at the very beginning. Also so far 99% of the Fakes are from the 4Th,6th,7th,and 8Th Series Only.
I will send you back the Tokens.I do remember that Promo from that Singapore Seller, that was offering Minagishi by hundreds whenever you will bought Booster Box,etc...Wish I knew you at that time,I will have let you know immediately
Take Care.Alexis.

Hi Alexis, Richard & Ralph

i would love to see this valuable informations added to the website because the fake Tokens are a never ending story and are discussed every few month with more or less new informations.
Maybe you can make scans where the differences you described are visible.
So Ralph could add the description and the scans to the site?

Hi Members.
This is one good example to start with.On the left a Real Bird 8Th Series and on the right a Fake one.By this link is not so easy to see the difference on the back, but in real, you can see it right away.I will add more links later.
The second Bird belongs to my Fake Singapore Collection.

Example Number 2,Insect from 7th Series.
The Insect on the right is the one that Richard sent me.
As,you can see the police in the Text Box is different,
brighter front and the Back way darker.

This is partially the reason why I first felt that the 5-goblin token was fake - it's colors were brighter than the one scanned here, and at the time, I even felt that the font was just a slightly different too.
Other than collecting the 11th series, I am not even touching the older cards anymore.
a) too many chances of getting fakes
b) the REAL old tokens are too expensive now  ;D  (re: 2nd series Zombie!!)
