So I was bored and was playing around with foil magic cards by bending them, cutting them, even burning them. Â After using my ultimate design knife skills, I was able to the take the "ink" layer off from a foil card.
As you all know, foil card consist of a normal magic card but with a foil layer and then a ink layer. Â What I've discovered was that some edition has a "thicker" ink layer than others. Â After testing around with basic lands from various sets, I found the 7th Edition Ink layer thick enough that it can be "pulled" off.
Here are the results.

Re: Foil Cards
I did this to an Invasion card I had once. I think it's really cool :). Do you have any other pictures of cards on fire and such for us?

Re: Foil Cards
you should try to get the foil layer back on the card front/back.
sell it on ebay telling it's a new kind of misprint, mirrored front foil magic card.
maybe kikta will pay you a big prize for it ;)

Re: Foil Cards
Though I did start this by thinking "it is possible to make a filler card so well that it looks real" but i noticed that requires alot of skill of takeing off the ink layer. I've succesfully done 3 foil lands for it but it leaves a mark on the foil side.
And I did paste the ink layer on the back side and I found it pretty :p
