scan of Japanese Fifth Dawn booster pack needed

Post by Ralph Herold » Thu Apr 14, 2005 3:06 am

Dear members,

Since Fifth Dawn has become old and I am still missing this particular scan, I wanted to being this to your attention. I will need the scan, in specific a scan of the Japanese Fifth Dawn logo on the booster pack, to create the miniature logo for Magic Card Sets. In case you can help, please contact me. Thank you.

here is the nitwit from the netherlands.

i have never bought any japanese boosters at all,
but aren't all boosters in all languages sealed vertically  instead of horizontally like the ones you scanned Macone?

Axios is right... I thought fake boosters were usually sealed like that  :o

(obviously no offense, Macone, given I'm a total newbie on Japanese boosters too)
Please note my change in e-mail (check profile)

Those look they have punch-out areas near the top of the pack (for placement onto a metal rod, on the store shelf).  Now, im not sure that has anything to do with how the packs are crimped, but I *have* bought Japanese packs, and I believe I have seen packs like that.

ive gotten packs like that in several different languages before.

its no different to the US having blister packed boosters.. its for a countertop display or wall display.

remember, especially in Japan, space is at an uber-premium, so counter top displays of product in a very small area are very common.

and again,
i think WOTC only vertically seals the boosters.
In a topic a while ago, we've discussed the fact that boosters with horizontal seals are fake.........

Except for Japanese, which are (currently) done this way..;-)

Vertical sealing is bad for peg hooks, gives a place for the peg hooks to break the wrapper.  So they do them horizontally.

That's my theory.

But when I asked this question some time ago, I was informed that this is the norm for Japanese.

Hi,

Before Judgment, Japanese booster packs are sealed like English packs,
and since Onslaught, Japanese boosters are like this.

See Eric's boosters collection.  ;)

macone: Thank you for the scan, but I need a bigger one. 600dpi would be fine. Please note that you need not scan the entire booster, the complete logo would suffice. Thank you.
