They are specifically designed for text books, as I believe the display said something to that affect.Are they book covers or are they just posters the size of book covers?

I would say a little of both. They are creased halfway, as if they were folded, though I never saw them actually folded before. And the text boxes are blank so you can write little things about your book in them, if so desired.Are they book covers or are they just posters the size of book covers?
On the flip side of things, if you were to iron out the crease, you could make it look like a nice little poster.
I believe the initial description of this item was as a book cover, but duster or poster, either works, depending on the user.
