International Links

Post by Tenacious_Dyl » Wed Dec 24, 2003 5:34 am

Hello...
Recently... in the "trading" forums I have started quite a project w/ the topic of Russian MTG... no, so far no Russian Sets released, but there are TONS AND TONS AND TONS of Russian players and websites and gatherings... Wizards could make money...

Anywho... by doing that project, I have realized just how 'isolated' some groups are. Just by a random post, and me being inspired, I found many Russian Retailers and MTG fan sites, an area that was really quite... unknown before.

Perhaps... we should have a "MTG International Links" section on the site. This section, could have 3-5 slots per country/culture, which we would fill with our 'favorite' or 'best' webpages representing that country/culture.

This would not only give us a MUCH larger area to go to in need of cards, trading, knowledge, friends, etc. But it would make our whole cause and ideas in Magic better. Just think... I am sure there are many foreign error cards 'undiscovered' by our forums... and probably many Wizard's products pretty much undiscovered as well!

What do you guys (and Ralph :-)) think?

I think this is a good idea. I would start to list links here in the forum, though, and accumulate a few before deciding how to present them in the Links section.

Great idea.  My Russian is very rusty, but should sets ever get produced, I might revise my stance of collecting only English M:TG cards.

Sweet! :) Anymore from Hong Kong charlie? That would be nice!... hopefully this list will be big. And we can send the same list to all people on the list. Maybe I will use some photoshop skills to make us an icon for it ;) Hehe....

Best Regards,

They're not exactly in a different language, but two interesting Canadian sites include:
http://www.cartamagica.com
http://www.mtgontario.com

Hope this helps in some way :).

I don't think differing language was the point of collecting links.  I think sites from around the world was the point.

" I don't think differing language was the point of collecting links.  I think sites from around the world was the point."- mintcollector.

Bing ;) Mint Collector wins a prize! hehe. That is exactly right.

The idea is that we can have a section of the sight that links to *active / useful* websites and online MTG communities around the world.

This is good for communications, relations, trading, etc. But is also very healthy for the MTG community to be large, and have everyone a part of it. All the sites that we link, we hope will link us. The same "list" can be used on every site on that list.

The idea is that everyone's knowledge will spread around very very fast... and questions, rarities, etc, are better answered and found. :)

Keep 'em coming.

Any South Africa or Middle East Links? :)

Best Regards,
Dylan I.
