Bleweiss article on FNM and Judge promos
http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/article/9472.html
I must say, Ben, this was a great article. Especially with your suggestions for judge promos: right on the money. Force of Will would be the perfect judge promo. The foil P9 for the type 1 champs would be cool, too, but possibly more interesting if there were more than one of each card distributed.
The only issue I have is your aside of Sword of Fire and Ice. I'm of the opinion the enchantment version would likely only cost around 4 mana. Just because the individual effects add up to 6 doesn't mean the combined enchantment would cost 6.
(And thanks for setting this aside for the "non-premium" members.) ;)

We were talking about this some days ago. This idea sucks! [smiley=veryangry.gif]
Re: Bleweiss article on FNM and Judge promos
The article mentioned something about artwork reinterpretations of the original power nine? I haven't been able to find the pictures or any more info anywhere else. Does anyone have anything?

omg!
do we know if it's a fake or dream or if there is a possibility for p9 to be reprinted in foils cards like these two ?

I'd say slim to no chance for Power 9 reprints. The best you could hope for would be a Morphling or Cursed Scroll. Anything with more than a current $20 or $30 value for the basic card would be a pipe dream. omg!

:(
We can dream though.

I want to see these:
These types of cards are more plausible.

Yes, that's what i thought? Foil Power? No way, thgat would mess up the market in an unpredictable way. Better to reprint them in 10th edition :p
I collect foils and FBB Base Sets. PM me.

I don't even think we'll ever see cards like Mana Drain or Juzam. Wizards doesn't want to destroy the old card market. Hell...give me a foil Nicol Bolas and I'd be happy. ;D

Maybe they could give out something crazy like foil Tetsuo Umezawas. It's a cool Legends card and even ties in tangentially to the current block.
I wonder what the reaction would be if they ever did something like a foil Mana Crypt.

Foiled reprints of the soon to be released P3K power cards would be interesting as they are to be newly introduced to the market.

Re: Bleweiss article on FNM and Judge promos
Which market are you suggesting would be messed up? The secondary market for Power 9, or the current promo foil market?

The reason I ask this, is Wizards in the past (pre-Hasbro) was quite upset with the way the secondary market prices were being handled. There was a threat from Wizards around Year 1999 that they would be re-releasing some of the extremely highly priced cards in an attempt to reduce the secondary - though at the time they were unsure exactly how to do it. I have not heard anything about this for a long time (post-Hasbro days), so I am not sure if this idea has been put into a recycle bin, or if it was just shelved for a period of time.
I would say not to be too suprised to see Power 9 appear again some time - and if they are going to release them in a foil promo format, it would make sense.

Re: Bleweiss article on FNM and Judge promos
I think a Judge's promo would make sense at least for dual lands. There is such a price disparity between WB and BB duals as it is, that introducing a DCI foil shouldn't foul it up much, and hell, promo cards are SUPPOSED to be desirable.

Re: Bleweiss article on FNM and Judge promos
If power gets reprinted I will get out of the game.
WoTC has only manage to crate a secondarie market due to people knowing that cards only exist in a very limited quantity. Also they keep prices/ rise in price because new people enter the game AND they know that the card will not be reprinted but still wnat one. Wizards said they will not reprinit specific cards. As I said if they do it feel free to make offers for my collection.
