When my buddie owned a store I was geting them for 53.00 a box his cost. but i worked his store for him when he needed time off for different reasons. also my daughter worked for him. he pissed off his arena leage players so they wouldn't trade with him but they would with me. so i guess it was in his best intrest to give me product for price.
Now I pay 65.00 a box from a dealer I know well and send alot of buisness his way

I am in the same boat.  I end up working my brother-in-law's booth for most of Wizard's World Chicago as of late.  I have offered to work a day now and again at his store, but he has never taken me up on the offer.  Probably because my wife, his sister would kill him if he worked me all the time and took me away on the weekends.

That's just how inflation works.
Exactly.  There are some people on other boards making a huge deal about this, but if you look at the increases over the past 10 years, it fits right in with the rest of the economy.  A movie ticket used to be 5 bucks, pay phones worked on a dime, and soda machines used to charge 50 cents.  Did you think that the price of Magic cards would always be the same?  Anyway, it'll cost me a dollar or so more to draft; it's still a good value in my opinion.

Well I don't know where you live, but here in good ole Corbin Kentuckey brand new movies are $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for kids. Soda is anywhere from $.45 to $.55 a can in a machine.

Any way. For any Members who want boxes I can sell them for you @ $67.50 a box + shipping.

I have offered them to member befor for $62.50 a box and shipping in the old price days, and only a few took me up on the offer. So if you want some at this good peice let me know.

How, you guys have it cheap.
small bottled pop in machines $1.50 (cans not found in machines very easily anymore)
Movie tickets $2-$5 at cheap theaters, up to $13.95 for new movies (such as Return of the King)
Candy bars on sale 2 for $1.89
4 litre milk $3.69
Single package cigarettes $7.50
brand new base model (no extras) Chevrolet Cavalier $14,500

Looks some people out there have nothing to complain about in regards to inflation!!  :)  :D

Canadian dollars.  And if you take the exchange rate, some items, such as the pop may be in line, but others, such as movies, are quite a bit more expensive here.

Here in the Chicagoland area:

pop in machines: $1.00-$1.25

movie tickets: $2 and the "dollar" theaters, $9.00 for an AMC that shows new movies.

candy bars: don't really buy them as we get bulk candy for home and my candy dish at work so no comparison.

What part of Maine are you from?
I grew up in Rockland( about 30 miles from Bangor) when i was a kid, i go there in the summer.

I agree with you Nico, i also hate the new look of Magic.
My last booster was in Onslaught.
I also help a buddie with his card shop, he lets me trade and buy cards from the kids and players, traders.
He has no clue about most of the prices for rarities, so i get good prices for most of my rares.

As for prices here in Florida:
Movies: Matinee $6.50
             After six $8.50
 Soda: $1.25
Candy: $1.50
I don't drink soda or eat candy though.
For the kids at the card shop.
Darren
I have enough cards to stack them all up, and commit suicide off the top!

Darren, I live in Waterboro, about 15 miles from Saco. When do you come up to Maine?
