who collects what?

What advice can I give on collecting Unlimited? Other than "go for it", not much. I hope you live in the U.S. it'll be cheaper, I'd imagine.

I'm going for all sets, I'm missing about 30 Unlimited cards, only one being P9- the Recall.

I collect ALL (non-foil) commons from ALL sets (including Summer Edition, ouch) in ALL languages (!!) Including basic lands. Including any promo's that are common in their regular print (eg. FNM Sparksmith and JSS Japanese Volcanic Hammer). But any card just once.

I also collect English foil commons starting from the new card layout in 8th Edition upto the newest set.

Since there is a new set every 4 months in 9 languages, with at least 55 commons each, I'll never finish this collection, but at least it doesn't cost me much (apart from the Summer Edition), and it'll keep me busy for as long as I play Magic.

I also collect misprints, miscuts and crimps, but I never spend more than a few bucks on a misprint (with a few exceptions).

I am still shocked to have never opened up or seen a crimp in person.  Wonder what the odds of that is?

Actually i would be interested in knowing those odds too.  From what I have read/heard about you on here, you have been involved with Magic much more than I, and I think I have thrown away or destroyed probably 60-70 crimps that I have come across since 4th.  Of course, that was before I knew that anybody would want damaged cards   :D

I just can't take seeing people tear magic cards apart or destroy them in other ways, grrr >:(

Wait till you have kids  ;D ;D ;D
They'll only let you play or sort your collection if you sacrifice them some cards so they can do the "same" as their dad!

Still, I hate cards being destroyed... It's so pointless! I would much rather have them in my boxes where they would be loved... :-[

I am still kid-less, but believe me, step 1 is to move all of my stuff into a den and keep the door locked!  Step 2 is to never allow the kids in there even if I am in there.

only crimp I've opened is my mpr tokens were crimped.  Barely, but all of them.  Too bad I didn't notice before I opened them.

I was wondering I am going to start on Unlimited very soon I already have 90% of the commons and a few other things. What advice can you give me on collecting this set?

Depending upon what condition cards are acceptable to you, I can probably help.  I'm almost done with my player's set of Unlimited (excluding P9  :-[ ), and have extras of all commons, most uncommons, and well over half the rares.
