Gary
(1) Please can I add my encouragement and gratitude for your project. Even if I only get back to organize my tips/tokens once a year, it's still a warm feeling all the time to know that at least one other human being is tracking these wretchedly under-documented objects.
(2) If you have a latest update, please post it. Please declare in the Summaries sheet which pages have been updated since the last version.
(3) In order to speed tracking of these cards and prevent time-consuming brain-freeze, it would be excellent to have a canonical order for the reverses of cards. Alphabetical is nice, but sometimes you use the headline and sometimes you use the topic of the card, which hurts my head ow :-)
(3a) Moreover, when I am sorting my cards I also find it fastest to separate the portrait from the landscape cards. This split is largely correlated with the split between "advert" and "story". For example for SOI, this would lead to the following ordering, portraits then landscape:
- All Things Magic (magicthegathering.com)
- Don't Miss a Battle! (Events)
- Eldritch Moon (next set)
- Join the Best Community (Facebook)
- Ultra Pro
- Your Friday Night Destination (FNM)
- Creatures of the Dark
- Download Magic Online (MTGO)
- Jace Beleren
- Madness of Angels
- Nahiri
- The Lunarch Council
- The Mysteries of Innistrad
Hope this doesn't come over as being too obsessive, but when sorting these silly tokens, it's good to minimize the amount of thinking required.
(4) I like automatic sums for the rows and columns. Then the Summaries sheet can point to the computed total.
(5) I am not suggesting to fix the old worksheet pages (yet) but I suggest for new sheets we do this. Let me know when you publish the next version, and I will make some changes and repost.
(6) SOI has at least 108 different front/back combos. I am missing 10 that were in Gary's list. Here in Hong Kong we use US printed cards, but we don't have the New to Magic / Ultra Pro card. Instead we always have a (relatively common) Magic Duels card, distinctive with a T on one side and 7 on the other. Otherwise, I suspect our sheets might be identical. I have a Devil / Jace Beleren where the orientation of one side is out by 180 degrees. Has any one else seen this token? Would also be good to list the double-faced card proxies in this worksheet.
Etc, etc, sorry to go on.
All the best,
Andrew
