I Love It!!!

Post by berkumps » Thu Mar 13, 2008 4:25 am

An ebay message I received after winning an item...in the last 10 seconds.

"It's snipers like you that make Ebay a hell hole. Your rudeness is only equaled by a money selling farmer in an MMORPG. Hope you don't consider yourself a decent human being."

I guess he really wanted the item?

If he really wanted it he should have put his best bid in before the auction ended. On eBay, the only thing that matters is the highest bid when time expires, whether that bid is entered with two days or with one second left.

sniping is also pointless if the bidder's highest bid is higher than sniper. If he really wanted it, it should always be over valued, if not, then he has no right to say anything.

Absolutely right! I'm a sniper too, but if the auction ends on European time 3:00-4:00 a.m. I place a very high bid before I go asleep to be sure I get it.

PS: to all US sellers, please set your end-times at about 0:00-01:00 European time :-P

I had to lower the time to 8 seconds on my sniper program .
But someone can make even a sniper to 4 seconds. :-O

Unfortunately it is a hard war and someone must fight ..... :-D

No that's really unfair !

I am an artisan of sniping and never used software... only manual bids at -2 or - 3 seconds ! (you can't even imagine how many auctions I lost like that :-P :-( ](*,) )

On topic, that e-mail you got is beautiful Berkumps... I guess it's second only to the ones equinox got some time ago ("you nazi kraut-eater"...)

I am lazy.
However, I do not despise "manual" work .....ahem .... of sniping of course ... :-D

Yeah, these kind of messages always make me laugh. As others have stated, the highest bid wins, whether it's put in right away or at the last second. In addition, unless you're really new to feeBay, you must realize that EVERYONE snipes - it's how the system is set up. In reality the site is more like a sealed bid auction than a live auction.

Oh well, I guess he'll keep losing :-D

Take it easy,
Jared

Unfortunately he hid it from me, but his ebay name is willjcus2. Feel free to usurp other items from him...preferably via sniping!!!

Well, the site no longer shows items you're bidding on until they close, so I'll just continue to behave randomly.

I do nothing but snipe on Ebay.

For me it is a question of saving money, nothing more, nothing less. It saved me thousands of dollars.

And that's the only way for me not to forget about an auction.

I wish every one was polluting Ebay like Mark does ! It would be the safest place on the Internet !
