Summer Magic for sale

Post by thulnanth » Sun Jun 07, 2009 11:03 pm

Hey All,

I know a lot of you here love Summer Magic cards. Since everyone here has always been so nice and helpful, I figured I'd try and return the favor for once. I was looking around on some dealer websites, and found this...

http://www.abugames.com/set156/Buy-Summ ... -Sale.html

Website (if link doesn't work)...

http://www.abugames.com

Several of the cards have sold since I noticed them there - sorry I didn't post this sooner. Hope this helps someone with their quest and good luck!!!

Take it easy,
Jared
Ray Thiel (1964-2007) - the man who showed me more wonderful games & gaming sessions than I ever dreamed possible... you ran out of hit points too young, my friend.

I was able to complete my common set , and get a couple goodies. =D>
I have enough cards to stack them all up, and commit suicide off the top!

If "It had 30 rares including Shivan Dragon, Nevinyrral's Disk, and 4 Dual Lands as well as 2 Blue Hurricanes, " is real, they already sold the shivan, Nevinyrral's Disk, hurricanes ands duals :-O

Prices of cards they have are really expensive... right?

](*,) [-X >:-( :-( :'-(
These prices are ridiculously high!:
$70-100 for basic lands, $100 for (bad) commons!

I pay €20-€25 ($28-$35) for basic lands and €25-€30 ($35-$42) for (bad) commons.
I have bought 15 basic lands and about 15 (bad) commons for these prices (but the last ones I bought were a over year ago, so prices might have gone up a bit, but I can't imagine they have TRIPLED since then!).

Summer prices have recently spiked, just check some completed auctions.
But also, this store traditionally has very high prices.

Their prices aren't really high, to be honest. Slightly high for commons and basics, but very reasonable for some of the higher end cards. The shivan for 3500 was a bit ridiculous, as is 1+k for stp, but 1500 for demonic tutor/sol ring/certain duals or 1k for serra angel are pretty decent and doable prices.

I suspect people simply mailed them with lower offers which they accepted for the hurricanes and shivan. The shivan was in stock when I first checked, and 3500 is really high. I would have mailed them with a lower offer if it were still around.

FYI,

The Shivan is available again... It was in my shopping cart for a bit while I contemplated it. In the end I picked up a few of the rares but sadly had to let that beautiful dragon go, even though it may be a long time before we see another cross our paths.

... If there was ever a time to win the lottery... :(

I still need 2 weakness to complete a summer set but 100 is by far ridiculous.

They never had demonic tutor or serra angel

That's only "theoric" prices and not "real" prices.

Thoses prices are less than prices on eBay.

And do you really think that they will sell a Wrath of God only half a Shivan??? (that's an exemple).

BTW, ABU has posted their remaining SM stock on eBay now to see what happens (with the usual markup to cover fees of course).

This should be interesting to see if anyone bites at the $5750 Hurricanes now
:-k

I have a funny feeling they posted the cards on eBay to promote people to go to there website. There prices on 95% of the cards are overpriced and just way out of the realm of reason. They'll be sitting on a large portion of them for a long time to come.
