Back when Ebay was "the" place to but Magic cards, I had a few close calls. I remember being extremely pleased to only pay $40 on a $25 card, when I erroneously entered $2653 instead of $26.53.
As an aside, I remember many dealers refusing to sell me items I won at "Buy it Now" prices when they put in what they felt was an erroneously small price. So I would be hard pressed to pay a ridiculous price for an erroneous bid price. I would feel somewhat obliged to pay twice as much as normal on a small value item, and a 50% premium on a larger value item.
