Well, I'm sure there's one member here that will appreciate this just in time for the holidays.

Wow - that is an AMAZING piece!!! I love the skeleton... still trying to grasp the prize. :-P

I met Chris at Spectrum this year; he's a great guy. Glad to see him get such a nice price for one of his pieces (even though it's way out of my price range).

The question remains, are you winning? If I could afford it, I'd be on this. Best of luck to you.

LOL... it wasn't me, that's for sure :-P

Funny story - I was downstairs on the computer checking out my eBay watch list, and I saw that the auction was done. When I looked at the total I audibly gasped... apparently so loud my wife upstairs asked me what was up :-D

I went upstairs and told her the whole story - she was impressed, to say the least (and happy I wasn't involved, lol). I mentioned that if I make it to Spectrum again this spring I'll have to give Chris a pat on the back....

... now my wife and daughters are planning out our trip to KC in May =D>

this spring I'll have to give Chris a pat on the back....

I think give the art director a pat on the back more like it. Didn't matter who the artist was, this is purely a "It's the Black Lotus..." driven sale.

I could see the image being marketed on MTGO like the sign in screen but what else? They have eight other pieces to promote as well... at the same time.
It could make Spectrum just for the fact it sold for so much $$- The art is decent.
16K seems way over the top.
