Yoz, semi bad news is that coldcrap japanese precons seem to be rather pricey, and the 'get off of the net' kinda most likely wont arrive at my house before I leave Japan. (as in retail price is $13)

Anybody seriously interested PM me. A number of people contacted me about buying singles, which I cant do cause I dont have any and nobody buys precons so there arent any in circulation. Mind that shipping will be killer if you want the entire precon instead of just the good cards.

Wow.
Set has been for sale since Friday, and already the precons are scarce in Japan. All card shops are sold out of the UW, and I only got 4x by going to supermarkets.
Im on good terms with a couple guys who run card shops and they told me they are sold out and wont be getting more for at least a while. (Some stores only stocked the english versions).

Oh and the lands are indeed misprinted: one of them has the Snow-Covered Island picture.

Normally themed decks are not noteworthy to me, but the new faced old art definitely makes me need to go out and get one of each pre-con. I am assuming one of each pre-con should get 100% of the new cards right?

If you buy all of the precons you will get all of the reprints and a number of the coldsnap cards.

So has anyone opened these yet? Do the Ice Age cards have numbers or what?

So how are they numbered? How do you number a subset of something that didn't have numbers to begin with?

This is interesting. I may have to finally buy some basic cards again.

On a slightly different note, I was at the local bookstore today, and they have a bunch of the Ice Age novels that was originally sold back in 1999. They are all 3rd print. Looks like WotC is trying to cash in on this by reprinting the Ice Age books. Though strangely enough, the cover appears to be the same as I remember it. I say that this is strange, because all of the DragonLance and Forgotten Realms books (aka TSR) have been reprinted with different art covers for the last few years now.

<sigh> I enjoyed TSR as a book company, do not really care for WotC.

I presume they numbered the set at some point.

To answer my own question, here's the numbers from the Kjeldoran Cunning precon:

20/383 Disenchant
34/383 Kjeldoran Elite Guard
60/383 Binding Grasp
61/383 Brainstorm
54/383 Swords to Plowshares
90/383 Portent
112/383 Zuran Spellcaster
305/383 Wings of Aesther
369/383 Plains
370/383 Plains
371/383 Plains
372/383 Island
373/383 Island
374/383 Island

8/144 Kjeldoran Home Guard
9b/144 Kjeldoran Pride
12b/144 Reinforcements
16/144 Scars of the Veteran
30b/144 Latnam's Legacy

So it does indeed look like they just assigned numbers to the complete sets as they would be if they were printed today and put the appropriate number on each card. This means that although these cards SAY out of 383 or 144, you can not actually collect a complete set of these numbered series, and in fact both erroneous totals apply to the same release.

In my opinion, this is dumb.

For your brainstorm Coldsnap TD I have check the flavour text it's the same...
Where do you see a difference ? or other cards perhaps from this "set". ?

Hi.
In the post
Hi.
My mistake....I mean the Text not the flavor text.

Original Ice Age Brainstorm Text:
Card Text : "Draw three cards; then, take two cards from your hand and put them on top of your library in any order."

Brainstorm Mercadian Masques:
Card Text : "Draw three cards, then put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order."

Brainstorm 5Th Edition:
Card Text : "Draw three cards. Then, put any two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order."

Brainstorm Beatdown:
Card Text : "Draw three cards, then put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order."

Brainstorm FNM:
Card Text : Draw three cards, then put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order.

Coldsnap Brainstorm Text:
Card Text:Draw three cards, then, put two cards from your hand and put them on top of your library"

I need to chek for the 61 others that may have also Alternate Text or Flavor Text.I believe a Special Cards Coldsnap needs to be created as we
are in the Time Spiral Purple Topic.
Want/Have Lists.
