I think we are beginning to see some of the "private stock" cards from Carta Mundi employees showing up in the secondary market. Carta Mundi's US facility is in Tennessee, and many (if not all) of the recent oddities are being offered by Tennessee sellers. Regardless of what cover story is being given, I just think this is too much of a coincidence. Somebody must have quit, or been fired, or finally felt the desire (or financial need?) to sell these items.

It just seems too weird that a Chinese pack would be opened in Tennessee.

I saw tghese cards at Columbus this past weekend. They are real and he has 14 total. I tried to get them all but the guy didnt know what to value them at and I guess someone else got to them first cause the story checks out.

Even if they are real isn't it childs play to counterfeit them?

Go to your lokal hobby store and make a stamp or order one.
Take an ordanary artist proof. And you have a specimen card.

How in earth would a specimen get into a chinese boosterpack? That makes no sense if you look at a (fully) automated production process.

Hi.
Since you have a chance to look at them, don't you think that they can simply be Stronghold Artist Proof with a Specimen Stamp?

No, you can tell right away that these were not fake. They were all commons which gave me the impression someone would have not wasted their time with such bad cards. All the "Specimen" words on the backs were perfect and in the exact same locations. These were indeed real and I definetly missed out on mega bucks there.

Another thought might be to contact Paolo Parente & see if any of his Stronhold APs had this stamp, or if his 50-Count were short on this card title. Anyone have his e-mail handy?

Hi.
So Why no one from this Forum buys the one with the "71" Number on Ebay right now,it's just 50$ Buy it now.I have to admit that I am sceptical about those, and I didn't bought any. What's looks to be on one part Stronghold A.P. with a Specimen Stamp, that I can follow, eventually but coming from Fifth Edition Boosters T-Chinese or S-Chinese?I don't catch it.I don't know what others Members are thinking about it,Enrico, what's your comment since you own one?Does anyone know the Seller to get more infos about those,so Authenticicity and Integrity can be prooved?

Hi all,

I am still waiting for mine too (no worries, typical Italian Posts time, I might get it well into July :-( ).

I also basically offered a not-too-high sum just out of curiosity, since I am a bit sceptical and I wanted to have a close look to one.

I'll keep you all posted.

Thanks

I have recived the two cards today.
It was not the card listed in the auctions I have won, which was Nr71.
he in later auctions stated that the Nr may varie. Mine is Green 55.
I have indeed also recived a black card with specimen on the back insted of the Red one in the listing.
A very good freind recived the Nr 71 and a Blue card with specimen on the back. We both think due to the very high quality of the printing on the cards and the cardstock that these cards are real. Also the different card fronts used for the specimen cards in our eyes make them legit.
In order to fake the numbered cards you would have needed to buy mutlipe fillers 001 from http://www.magiclibrarities.net/raritie ... mages.html .
Such bigger buys of the same filler would shurly have cought our eyes.

To me and my dear freind, these cards are legit and a great addition to any filler collection!

I just found this on wikipedia where I wanted to look at what a specimen was:

"In biology, a specimen is an individual animal, plant or microorganism used as a representative to study the properties of the whole population of that species. "

The seller has 3 colors, red green and blue for the numbered misprints.

In swizerland and france the word specimen is also used for tests prints of new banknotes.
Speciman = an example regarded as typical of its class
Specimen = Sample, test copys.... etc.pp
