DCI Jaya Packs o_0

Well, Catherine and I have opened about at total of 75 Jaya packs (still have that sealed one for you Alexis)
We didn't log all the data or anything, but there were some interesting packs to just be mixed in.
I opened about 10 of them and she had the other 60+

We found a total of 4 Odyssey, 1 Onslaught, 4 Scourge, 2 8thEdition, and the strange one ...

I found a pack that says DO NOT OPEN and something about the rules or something.
I believe it is 8th Edition relevant, being that the date on it is 2005.
Was it something in a starter pack or something?

But ... how the hell did it make its way into a 3-pack jaya blister?

Also, I heard someone got a Tempest pack?

A local walmart had about 12 packs......9 of them had one of the white 2 player packs (they had the red stripe as l0qii suggested). I was thinking the white packs all had the same cards and nothing outstanding, so I passed on the white pack blisters and picked up the other 3. I don't believe the blisters themselves are a WOTC product, but instead are packed by a company that has picked up a bunch of product and repacked it into the blisters (could be completely off here....I haven't examined the blisters closely and they're not here as I type this, just going by other blister type product I've seen in the past).

If so, I'm less surprised to see the "Do not open" packs, as 2 player sets historically are blown out for near nothing once the set rotates and they could put the decks in some other random blister product......and most of the other product mentioned (Scourge, 8th, etc.) has been offered at below cost at one time or another. I'm more surprised to hear of a Tempest booster.....and still curious as to where exactly these Jayas came from and how they obtained so many....

I haven't opened my blisters, but they appear to have only boosters from the last 2 blocks.......maybe they purchased some newer product to mix in with the older crap :)

Okay, very interesting. I've noticed that depending on the area we were in the wal-marts would have different assortments.

The last few were almost ALL Savors, Planar Chaos, Future Sight.

Also, there are a high concentration of good cards.
Out of the first 60 packs, we opened SEVEN PITHING NEEDLES, several blue pacts, horizon canopy, FOIL EXTIRPATE, FOIL GROUNDBREAKER, the list goes on and on and on

But, what about my pack, what is it? It isnt 8th edition apparently.
We need a sealed collector here :D Alexis?

I'm 100% sure these are not packaged by WOTC. Previously a company out of Rochester, NY was producing them, but I don't know if these are the same. The supplier had printed their name on the packaging somewhere. How they got all these Jaya's is the real mystery. It would seem they at least have a license through WOTC, but why just them? And why would WOTC license with someone who is going to repackage Starter boosters with non-random contents?

ALL Savors, Planar Chaos, Future Sight
Forgot about Saviors (another cheap box)......this sounds like the packs I have.....I think one may have had a Ravnica pack. I'll get the exact contents and edit this Sunday.

Hi all,

I judged the Dreamblade 50K and while I was there I spoke to one of the Wizards reps and found this out. I am paraphrasing. The Jayas are in fact real and were given out as a worldwide distibution promos to be put out in the multipacks that have been turning up. Wizards themselves are not doing the repacking, but they authorized distributors to do it. The rep didn't say if this was a one time thing and I didn't press the issue.

I hope this sheds some light on this card.

I can't say for certain, but given the copyright date I'd guess that it's from 9th Edition.

Hi Tim.
As you know so many scans are missing, and since I was not taking care of the website in 2005,I simply don't know, but I do have it and will add it in the future.
