I just sent an email to wpn@wizards.com about this clown. That was what was recommended on the DCI TO boards.

Looking at his current auctions, he has 40 Textless MPR Blightnings for sale. FORTY!!

I am just stunned by this...

I wish I was that guy without the breaking the rules part.

Or I wish I lived near carti mundi in Belgium. Dig in the trash, find a thousand dollars. Seems hot to me.

Great!! An avenue I had not thought about.

No one has even looked at my posts on the wizard forum.

I found a topic heading on the WotC Customer Service page called "reporting suspicious activity". I think they have something else in mind but I used it to give them something to think about. The thing of it is, CS is accustomed to passing things on, this might actually get someplace.

Five bucks says that guy or a friend stole them from the printing company.

I won't take that bet. I was quite interested to see that the reply to my question on the help line was someone in the finance office at WotC.

I have to say that I am quite disappointed in WOTC. I have not yet even received an acknowledgement that they got my email, let alone are going to look into it.

That dissapoints me too. The reply I got on the trading board was, in short, This isn't our problem and doesn't pretain to us.

Bunch of people that probably don't play enough to get cards and would rather buy them from some shyster.

All is well, promos were starting to get mailed out on 3/20.

Essentially he was among the first to get them.

Nothing to see here! :)

And me posting in the thread is kinda the equivalent of us saying "we'll look into it" :)

One question still not answered. How much Magic did he play to get that many player rewards and more germaine to the issue, were these cards given to him based on the actual number of events he particiated in AS A PLAYER?

Counting 40 each of the two is really a test of my belief in the system credibility.

I would like, more than almost anything concerned with this subject for someone to show me the numbers. To prove to me that my whole perception of this situation is wrong. I want to believe. Right now I can't.

Huh? Do you work for Wizards?

I'm still dubious. How does one obtain a sealed pack of 4 FNM promos for sale if you are not a rogue TO?

Actually he not only works for Wizards but is a long standing friend of the family. I would trust him completely. The cards being mailed on the 20th, however, just doesn't answer my questions.

Of course I might be way off track too (has happened a couple times in over half a century) but my picture is one of each player getting little packages of rewards for the playing they have done. This just doesn't fit that picture. I realize he could have a group of playing friends that all give him cards to sell or are in a joint venture or some such, but I also know there have been times when employees and/or others have ripped WotC off without anyone realizing what was going on.

That is why I would like to know what is happening here.

I am hoping to find out more if they follow up on the customer service question.

Agreed Gary. There are some situations where this could be above-board, but those are edge cases and very unlikely.

The sheer # of tournaments one would have to play to receive that many rewards is probably physically impossible.
