Korean Dark Ascension--some observations
Up front I must say I am very disappointed in the quality control for the Korean printing and collating of Dark Ascension.
Scuff marks. Every flip card I have looked at (that would be all of them in 3 boxes) is unfit for collecting. The marks look like the card was drug across or scraped against something rough. Located on the upper half of the card and typically 3/8" wide and 5/8" long.
Not a high priority to anyone except a select few, but out of 108 t/t cards 108 were scuffed.
Two of the boxes had what I consider a significant collation problem. One box had ten sets of duplicate rares the other box had six sets of duplicates and one threesome. Two sets of duplicate rares were in boosters that were adjacent to each other in a pile. Bottom line was that with a 158 card set I did not get a complete set out of three boxes.
Considering the difficulty in getting these I am NOT a happy camper.

The scuffing of the cards is unacceptable in my opinion.
Regarding a full set from 3 boxes, I opened 3 English boxes from a case yesterday, and do not have a full set (missing 1 rare, and 4-5 mythics).

MY DA box was terrible. Doubles of almost everything terrible. Best things I got were 3x messenger, 1x gravecrawler. Kinda sad. My innistrad 24 packs 9not even a box QQ) made up for it with a foil past in flames, snapcaster, geist, and some others.
I checked. I opened none of those in my box.mystical_tutor wrote: Wow, I actually came off better than you did. I lack:

let me know what you're missing and I can see if I'm able to fill in any gaps.berkumps wrote:The scuffing of the cards is unacceptable in my opinion.

Let me mention that the scuffing problem is not easily noticed. I missed it on most of my initial set build until I ran into two or three that were really noticable. When I went back to double check--every one was at least slightly skuffed (a couple cards would be VERY hard to detect if you didn't know what you were looking for). Green uncommons were the worst.

You would fit right in with most Koran Magic players. They tend toward the modern fonts as used in Mirage and other cards of that time period.Ertai's Familiar wrote:Did I mention that the font sucks?
Me, being an old fart, I like the old stile font. I think it looks cool (of course I also like old English, hieroglyphics and cuneiform....)
