Special "Guild" Boosters in Return to Ravnica and

Post by CHaPuZaS » Sat Jul 14, 2012 9:32 pm

"Unlike Ravnica block, Gatecrash will also be a large set — both sets will contain 5 of the original 10 guilds (...) Also of note: At the prerelease for both sets, each player will choose a guild. One of the six packs in the sealed pool will be a special “guild booster”, and contain a guild-specific prerelease promo card — which, for the first time, you can now play with in the prerelease itself!"

Translated: Hello Booster Collector Fellas! Here we have yet another hard-to-get and special booster for you.

We will have a new hard time getting these boosters. I guess 10 guilds and 11 Languages lead us to 110 Boosters. Sick. Faction Boosters revisited.

This will appen during the prerelease of both sets, so 2x 110 boosters :)

that also means that 5 Promo cards for each prerelease.

And for those who collect the boxes, it will be even more fun !

Since there are 5 guilds, 36 boosters in a box would not make an even number. So I hope they won't be released in special boxes like the Faction boosters, but rather in boxes like the DotP promo boosters.

Russian was not available for the Faction Boosters (but they were for DotP), let's see if this will be the case this time.

Thanks for the info...

Hey! I love a challenge, but my wallet doesn't.

I am having trouble getting old sets and keeping up with the new releases without all the pre-release shenanigans.

The faction boosters and DotP aren't too hard to find and prices are coming down, for the American series anyway!

I guess the earliest you get the boosters for RtR, the better it will be.

SChinese Faction box was difficult to get, and I ended up paying it $200.

I DO wish they won't release special booster boxes.

They will if the Faction boxes were a success besides the preleases.

Give yourself time, you'll feel less frustrated. You end up getting all that you want with time (and of course, money, as you said).

remember, it's about the chase as much as it is about the cheese. No one wants a complete collection when the journey is so much fun and you get to meet so many great people!

Exactly, winning the lottery for instance would be terrible. Buying the tickets and imagining what you would do with the winnings... that's the real payoff right there.

You might think winning the lottery would be terrible...

Maybe that is exactly what happenned with all the card shop owners, they are all millionaires who just want to hang out with us, maybe we can get a discount.

wait, so R2R will have 5 original factions, and Gatecrash will have the other 5 original factions?

or are there 5 original factions returning and 5 new factions between the two sets?

and side query, is Jace Izzet? or could he be Azorius/Simic/Dimir? I ask because, based that he has Niv-Mizzet behind him in the advance art, I'd expect him to be Izzet, but his abilities are more in line with Azorius or Dimir.

Mark, you'd have to buy 2 boxes worth of boosters before I'd consider giving you a discount ;)

Kind of an interesting way to get us involved in more than just card tossing.

Looks interesting.
