I like the language identification at the bottom.
Dry_cereal should like that they've made the cards more "machine readable" by recognition software.

I think the language info at the bottom is a nice touch, too.
I wonder if this frame modification is to signal a change of the "Modern" format in a few years.
anyone else catch that they named the font "Beleren"? Chandra's gonna be infuriated....
I like core sets anyways, so I am looking forward to this set's release.

Also I like some changes (foil stamp, smaller border/bigger artwork), I really don't like the black bottom on all cards ...
... now it's not only hard to tell the difference between white and artifact - every card is now also 'a little bit black'. :/
But - who am I as a only-old-frame-player to judge on modern changes. ;)

Very interesting. Some important info that we should capture here too in case the link ever disappears:
regarding the info on the bottom of cards:
Having the names of the old and new font is useful.we liked the heaviness and shape of the "Matrix Bold" font we'd been using previously, so there are a lot of similarities between the old font and the new, named "Beleren,"
regarding the info on the bottom of cards:
Is this the end of packaging errors? No more fillers??This information is machine-readable by recognition software at our production plants. It will help eliminate the rare packaging error, like cards sneaking into the wrong expansion's boosters.
Look for art to be cropped differently on reprinted cards, as happened with 8th Edition. Not a big deal, but still neat to see slightly more of a piece of art than you were originally used toreclaimed real estate allows us to have slightly bigger art and text boxes as well.

the 8th edition frames are actually really easy to read, as the contrast is there, and there is very little bleeding. A BIG portion of our time was trying to tweak our filters for unlimited drudge skeletons. I didn't know about the 80/20 rule at the time :P
oh, and to be on-topic, I like the frames, but think the roundy bit at the bottom where the color part ends looks meh

Reminds me slightly of our recent conversation linked above.
They're slightly better with the new font, IMHO; still would rather have seen the Future Sight frames...

Hadn't really clicked with me until now, but the black bottom has been for every planeswalker! Just looked at a Lorwyn Jace. Curious that they are just now spreading it out to all cards with M15. Maybe they didn't have the holofoil technique down until recently?
