Recently, I was filmed/ interviewed about my misprint collection. Seems weirdo collectors like us are starting to get noticed!
Here's the link to the video, I hope you all enjoy it:

I was reading the daily articles and just came across this video. When finishing it, I remembered where I have seen that name, and came back to ML just to check out if you have posted it by yourself, which it was.
Good interview!

Nicely done. Now I know of some cards I still need for my stuff...LOL.
I was surprised to not see a Wyvern backed card. I'm sure you have some. I always thought they were kind of a supper screw up as compared to getting a sheet in the press twice and not catching it for the trash ben.
Interview was done with very good taste.
Thanks
Gary

Thanks for the compliments. I know I'd love to see videos of other forum members' collections, so I figured you would want to see mine!
Regarding what was/ was not featured- The interviewer/ filmer is a MtG player. There were a few cards I insisted to be included, most of which made it. The exception is the Starburst, the 'red Time Walk' alpha playtest card. Also a difficult to explain card that was squashed & then printed on. I wanted that in there. Other than that, I told him to include what grabbed his attention. I liked most of what he chose, but I too would have included more such as Summer cards, Wyvern backs, etc. But I know he couldn't have included everything. He filmed me for 4 hours at my place. He had a lot to choose from.
But seeing how I'm not the only misprint collector out there, I'm glad the topic got some exposure. I thought it was well done.

Awesome video thanks for sharing the link.
I was a bit surprised to hear no mention of Summer/Edgar edition. Although it only really contains a few misprints and I guess they were more like screw ups on card set-up than real misprints, but I still am blown away how many magic players still have no idea that this recalled set exists... I guess that is why I was hoping for a mention in the video - to breed awareness.
Anyway - still a great video and your stuff looks fantastic.

Yea, I agree. I was interviewed, but had little input on what "made the cut." If you look carefully, when I'm flipping trough the binder alone, there's a Summer Armageddon set aside in a protective case next to it. I showed it & a Frozen Shade in the interview, but it did not make it into the final cut.
I do wish more was shown, but I know he was overwhelmed with what to include. I showed him too much I think

Cool I will have to watch it again to see that part.
You must have blown his mind with the sheer magnitude and variety of your collection. Who would have thought cards that many were probably throwing away when they opened these boosters back around the mid '90s, would make such a cool (and valuable) collection.

I've thrown out misprints too Shhhh... don't tell anybody!
Don't worry, it wasn't anything amazing.
In the past, I scanned in a misprint once per week & posted it online. It's still there, actually. But a good friend of mine who plays suggested that I do a video version of such a thing & post it on YouTube weekly. He's computer savvy enough to be able to help me too.
Do you guys think this would be a good idea? Not so much for us, but for other MtG players who have a lot of questions. They're out there.... I got a dozen emails in the first 24 hours that video was posted. And I've seen plenty of random people join this very forum just to ask about some specific card they have.
I think it may be a good way to highlight the many misprints & oddities that exist, & will probably improve the visability of those of us with the niche collections. I think these videos would catch on well if I do them right. Good idea, or no?

Yes that is an excellent idea! I have noticed the amount of MTG type videos increasing over the past few years (mainly booster pack openings, and other not so useful yet entertaining stuff). But yes, I am sure there are a lot of new and old players as well as the pure collectors that would love to see these videos you are talking about.
Why not try one or two, and see how they do. You might just be surprised when the hits come rollin in. the key will be in how you title and tag the videos so you have to get in the mindset of what someone would be searching for.
Good Luck and let us know when you post any.
