please give an example of t/t frequency shift.

I don't even know any instance when the *frequency* of t/t changed mid-release. Please give me an example.

We don't even have good data on what the frequency might be if it was static. We don't generally track the quantity of front/back pairs (although some may track the number of "swaps" they have which remain to them).

What I suspect happens is that a supplier may shift from US English to Euro English (or vice versa), in the middle of a release. This could have the effect of causing a shift in the front/back pair population.

Andy

Thanks for the input Andy. I have wondered if they always use 11x11 or maybe some other size. Seems like the size would be the same as the rest of the set but who knows.
Hope that is all of this batch and we can put it to rest--but never know. Here is my tally so far:

Set..........total # of Combos...... US.....Europe

10th .............................77
Lorwyn .........................73
Morningtide...................58
Shadowmoor.................82
Eventide .......................86......83
Shards of Alara.............95
Conflux ......................111......92
Alara Reborn................94
Foil Booster..................93
2010 ...........................95......89......89
Zendikar .....................92
Worldwake ................111
Rise of the Eldrazi......112
2011 ..........................119
OK, it's been a long while since I've been here. Let me focus on this year's crop. Zendikar, Worldwake, Rise & M11. I will push out of my mind the appalling concept of the Alara Block Foil set.

What are the other potential complications?

- M11 has no overlap with the others. Yippee!

- Rise & Wake intersect in 5 ads and 2 t/t. According to the master spreadsheet, there are 3 cards which could be either Rise or Wake:
Dragon Seriously Fun,
Elephant It Pays,
Elephant Magic Online.

- Rise and Zen intersect in 0 ads (and 1 t/t) - yippee they are disjoint!

- Wake & Zen intersect in 2 ads and 2 t/t. Again according to the master spreadsheet, there is just 1 card which could either Wake or Zen:
Snake The Best Way.

The data I have does not contradict any of the known results for Rise or Wake.

- However Zen also has two English card sets: US & Euro. Mine are mostly Euro, but I do have some extra cards which are not on the current Euro spreadsheet:
Bird Survival Kits
Merfolk Duels of the Planeswalkers
Wolf Ultra Pro
Zombie Giant A World Enraged
Elemental A Scorching Yarn

Now the last 2 are also US cards. But as far as I can see they are the same card stock as the rest of the Euro cards. The first 3 are neither on the US table nor the Euro one. So my hypothesis is that all 5 should be added to the Euro list. This would push the Euro English Rise from 96 to 101 cards, while the US one is at 92.

Was the original Euro Zen list based on a vast sample, or is it likely that there are some missing?

It would also be good if the spreadsheet specified the cardstock used for Wake, Rise & M11. That might help some other disambiguations.

Apart from all this confusion, I am missing about:
at least 2 Zen
~20 Wake
~10 Rise

I will see if I can source them locally here in UK, initially.

Thanks for reading this.
All the best,
Andy

Good news.

It looks like I will have a very representative sample for the SOM set (in US English). I will have two cases + 2 boxes + odds and ends from pre-release. About 288 t/t cards+.

There is a new twist--kinda. One card is un-numbered, the Poison Counter card. Maybe it was a last minute decision and just added on.

There has been speculation of "Emblem" cards but I really don't expect to see any unless they are un-numbered like the poison counter card.

Hope to have it up on Saturday.

OBTW. I am trying to make a second set for Hans and should have some odds and ends beyond that if any of you are interested. The people donating the cards have claimed first choice after the first two sets though. That should result in several extra tip cards at lease.....

Basicly, Hans, in addition to those listed above I need almost all non-US English Zendikar cards. I have a few (like I got two from a US Soldier coming back from Afghanistan), you sent me a couple but I only have 5 from Zendikar. Your chart indicates I need about 57 more... sigh. I'll send you a list though as I would appreciate getting more.

Thank you for your interest Gary.

I am more trying to complete Euro English sets. If there are some combos which are only available in US, I suppose I might be tempted, but I basically should limit myself to Euro, if I have any sense.

Cheers,
Andy

Here is my present knowledge of the Scars of Mirrodin t/t combos in US English.

http://www.mediafire.com/?mghcxmen8qpihao

The dark cells have been reported to me but I have not seen them yet.

These are plain paper and not card stock.

Waiting to see if the European English is as different as Zen was.... sigh, hope not.

Thanks Gary.
60 Tokens and 35 Tips? My dealer informed me, that he has 60 Tokens and 35 Tips for me. So may be European and US English are the same. I will cross my fingers.
I will know it in three days.

Ouch. I have 74 tokens and 40 tips (of which 5 tips are not confirmed) so I am afraid we will have several different. Just hope it isn't like Zen and the sets are totaly scrambled.

OBTW Grats to Europe on the Riders Cup. Very closely played.

Just got the European English ones:

They are printed on paper.
- 60 Tokens
- 35 Tips/Rules
- 14 Poison Counters

And they meet exactly your sheet, Gary.
I think US and European English are the same this time. Regarding the five reported ones I have my doubt, but we will see.

Next version of global list I will publish next week, when I will get the German ones.
