Some interesting reading

Found this article interesting/amusing.

Also, found this bit of info from the MTG-L archives, thought it was interesting regarding the supposed origins of Summer Magic, as it differs from what I previously thought. If the information is accurate, this means that 4th Edition was originally intended as a functional reprint of Revised?

You've probably heard about the Hurricane from the "4th edition test print".

There's the Drudge/Swamp german card, and some similar French error involving
Aladdin's Ring, I think, and I remember hearing about one more similar error.

WotC was originally going to release 4th edition in October 1994.
Early in the print run of Revised, WotC said they would release it then.
They didn't, but their plans didn't change until after they'd already
printed what would have been the entire first shipment of 4th edition.
Supposedly, Richard Garfield was getting tired of stupid errors showing
up in the sets, and he had the run destroyed. Some of the cards made it
into Revised packs by mistake, and the set has sometimes been called the
"4th edition test print" (somewhat erroneously, since it was NOT supposed
to have been a test print) The mostly widely-known card in the 4ETP is
the Hurricane card, which was misprinted with *BLUE* borders. The design
of the set was closest (in terms of the card borders, copyright line, etc.)
to Legends and Dark.

A corrected Serendib Efreet 4ETP card has been reported.

Yes, people have some of the cards (I don't). Yes, they are hard to get.

All I know is I would have loved to have been the garbage man who found that dumpster.
