The number does not indicate unique promos. You have to consider that in 2012 alone there were 80 unique promos, 46 of which had foreign printings (many of which were printed in 8-10 languages).pp wrote:Over 450 a year?? Is this y-axis correct?

Actually, I am hesitating. Should I laugh or cry (not being ironical) ? Because, geez, that's a lot of work for you indeed, and for me a lot of money to be spent ...dragsamou wrote:Well, any release of an Edition or an Extension, it's for me to add over 150 Promos on the website, with the 11 Languages, glad I stopped in 2010...magic-belgium wrote:I'm curious to see the charts for 2013

Reminds me of when I started collecting coins, I was going for the $1 coins as they were bringing out some nice commemorative ones every couple of years.
Then they started minting the "Non circulating legal tender" $1 coins which cost you $2.50 to buy, with 4-5 different Mint Marks so for a full set you would need to get one of each of course.
Then they started putting out more and more each year, and the prices rose to $7.50 each.
Now they are $12 each but I gave up a long time ago.
I know a lot of collectors who are waiting for Queen Elizabeth II to step down, then they can reach an end point with their collecting because it is costing a fortune to complete sets and many coins are only available at special events, or part of a set and are very hard to get. They also started making $1 coins in different sizes and metals etc.
All in all it stopped being a fun hobby and became a real chore which was costing more money than I would ever make back, so I couldn't even convince myself it was an investment.

I figured it was worth updating with a new graph:
Not included are the Salvat/Hachette promos from 2006/2007 and 2011, which would add ridiculous spikes to the counts.
