Compilation of Official WotC playmats
I thought that since playmats seem to be big business these days, and that so many of them are being released, it would be important to catalogue the various releases of official playmats over the years. Feel free to help with any I have not included, or correct any errors in event/release date information.
I will update this thread as more are released. I will probably start another thread about unofficial playmats later (like SCG IQ's and TCGPlayer tournament mats, etc.). I have not included any of the Ultra Pro playmats that can be purchased from LGS's yet, but will do so in future. Right now these are mostly tournament related mats.

Haha, no. This is just a collection of pictures! I don't own a single one of these myself, although I do know a member here that probably owns most of them :)hammr7 wrote:That is one hell of a collection! Thanks for sharing it.
Just thought it would be interesting to catalogue them.

The 2007 Grand Melee playmat was given out to players in the GM at GenCon that year.
I could add many more pictures if there is sufficient interest.

I collect land cards, just that.

you have the 2004 worlds play mat listed under both 2000 and 2004.

Mark;
For historical reference (and uniformed like myself) Would you put up a note about the relationship of the different mats to official/unofficial events. A general set of guidelines.
I thought WotC mats were self explanatory--they run an event and make a mat for it. I'm not sure that is true though.
Ultra-pro, I think, is just a licensed vendor of mats, same as the old 3-ring binders and all the other stuff they do now.
But how does SCG and the others fit in? licensed or some official standing as a TO or event organizer or some such?
I may be the only dummy that doesn't know but years from now there may be more, so it would be good to have it in writing on the board.
Thanks
Gary
