What sets came with Tournamnet Decks?

Post by Magic61983 » Thu Nov 21, 2013 4:17 pm

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to come up with a list of sets that came with Tournament Decks. So anything non pre con.

I know Alpha to 4th for core sets and Ice Age to I believe Invasion at least for the larger sets in the blocks. Any other information would be greatly appreciated.
BGS 9+ Alpha set 282/295 (97.29%) Avg 9.41
BGS 9.5+ Beta set 283/302 (93.71%) Avg 9.58
BGS 9.5+ Arabian set 35/92 (38.04%) Avg 9.62
BGS 9.5+ Antiquities set 82/100 (82%) Avg 9.64
BGS 9.5+ Legends set 279/310 (90.00%) Avg 9.61

Tournament Packs:

Urza's Saga: Tournament Pack
Sixth Edition: Tournament Pack
Mercadian Masques: Tournament Pack
Invasion: Tournament Pack
Odyssey: Tournament Pack
Onslaught: Tournament Pack
Mirrodin: Tournament Pack
Champions of Kamigawa: Tournament Pack
Ravnica: Tournament Pack
Time Spiral: Tournament Pack
Lorwyn: Tournament Pack
Shadowmoor: Tournament Pack
Shards of Alara: Tournament Pack

After that it's :
Ravnica Guild Packs (5)
Gatecrash Guild Packs (5)
Dragon's Maze Guid Packs (5)
Theros Prerelease Packs (5)

The change from 60-card starter deck to 75-card tournament pack was made with Urza's Saga to facilitate Sealed deck tournaments. Tournament decks were sold in 12-pack tournament boxes.
Shards of Alara was the last set that offered tournament packs for purchase.

I think ...

Alpha through 5th, Ice Age, & Mirage Starters came with rule books

Tempest Starters came with story books

Tournament Decks came with folded inserts (no booklet)

Tempest through Nemesis preconstructed / theme decks came with strategy guide booklets

After that, the preconstructed / theme decks came with folded inserts (no booklet)
