Blinding Angel original Oil up for sale

Post by justybug » Tue Mar 03, 2009 2:40 am

Now taking offers for the Original Oil painting of Blinding Angel from the Nemesis set.
This 11x18 painting is on masonite board, and also includes the original Wizards of the Coast Art Order on the backing, dating from 1999.
Painting has been carefully stored in a smoke free home since 2000.
Link to the pic on the Todd Lockwood site:

i am offering this here as a courtesy to collectors before listing on ebay. bidding will open on Ebay at $3000 or best offer, so make a real offer if you're interested.
EDIT: $3000 or best offer. obviously it will go for whatever the market says it's worth...

This will definitely be shipped INSURED, and valued correctly if there are any customs declarations to be made as this is irreplacable.
Please email me through here or justybug at gmail dot com with any questions or offers.
thanks!

3 grand seems high. I really can't see much art going that high except for very iconic pieces.

the Kavu Titan original is listed on his page for $3000.. which card is more recognizable to you?
This went directly from Todd to Corey Macourek who I'm selling it for.
I'm thinking this is a fairly iconic piece, not the most iconic of course....
but when is a MTG Angel painting a bad thing really???! :-D

The Kavu is a larger piece, but there is probably more demand for an Angel. 3000 is probably on par with what the artist charges for his own pieces, however I don't think the current market is willing to pay those prices. I guess we will see.

3k does seem a bit high but the right buyer might come along and pick it up.

Ajani Vengeant original painting from Conflux for 1k - any takers? :P

Right buyer is the key. I paid 3K for Mark Zug's 7th Edition Sarra Angel and am quite satisfied with it. Don't plan to make money on it... just enjoy it.

Agreed with every word Gary has above...

Angels and Dragons tend to fetch a LOT more than other pieces...
Also, it is a decent sized oil.

To the right buyer, sky is the limit (almost)..
I paid 1500 on Goblin Game... and I don't regret paying the money, just who I had to pay the money to...

LOL... I was lucky as I bought it from Mark himself and I think he is a fine fellow. I like to see the artist get some money for their work rather than just a speculator.

Agreed on all accounts Gary... I had to pay this HUGE jerk at an art gallery.... He actually had the nerve to mock me in an email, but that's another story for another day...

I would have gladly given the money to Tony..wish I could have gone directly through him!

If you put it on ebay it wouldn't go above 1500, probably not above 1k. Just because the artist wants 3k for Titan doesn't mean it'll go for that. I saw Sliver Queen go $800 on ebay less than a year ago.

As an angel collector it's cool and all but $3k is way way over the market value on this. The Akroma Angel of Fury went for $2100 I believe and it's more Iconic.

Does anyone have a lead on the Stoic Angel original art?
BGS 9+ Alpha set 282/295 (97.29%) Avg 9.41
BGS 9.5+ Beta set 283/302 (93.71%) Avg 9.58
BGS 9.5+ Arabian set 35/92 (38.04%) Avg 9.62
BGS 9.5+ Antiquities set 82/100 (82%) Avg 9.64
BGS 9.5+ Legends set 279/310 (90.00%) Avg 9.61
