Foiled Foil?

Post by mystical_tutor » Sun Jun 07, 2009 3:51 pm

This is a bit of a couriosity. The wrinkles are high enough to be easily felt and were made before the card was cut. I would classify it as a "misprint" as it looks like just another escapee from the trash can.

Thought some might like to see it though.

I've seen this before I've actually pulled a card like this. It wasn't as bad as the card shown but it's wrinkled. I believe it was a Gemstone Cavern. I'll have to see if I still have it.

It is quite bad actually. It has been played a bit and the wrinkles are so pronounced that there is a wear pattern on the back (very faint--have to have the light just right and I could not photograph it) that corrosponds to the wrinkles.

Magic, post a picture if you find it.

Thanks

Gary

I'll have to look for the other but I believe this is similar.

I'm not familier with the process at all, I wonder how this happens.

My son has a foil Pokémon card with similar foil wrinkling, so I assume their process is the same...

That is what you get when you fart on your cards......

I have a foil rimescale dragon that's like that. It came from a factory-returned box of coldsnap that was later sold off massive bulk on yahoo japan.

I presume it comes from the pack getting damaged.
