Wow that makes a lot of different sets and languages, many more than I thought were out there.

Unless most of the cards from those sheets were lost or destroyed, it means there are quite a few to be found out there, including many staples.

I am intrigued by the faking process described above (thanks for that contribution): do those cards really end up looking so that you can't tell the back has been re-glued ?!

This defect also occurred in Urza's Legacy - I have some non-foil commons of this type from that set.

We currently have a foil Lure from Masques, and a non-foil Diabolic Edict from Tempest, both upsidedown :)

I'm sorry to say but this all incorrect.

I have checked very carefully and none of the cards listed above have upside down backs.

These are the corrects cards... all other Magic cards are upside down.

I have the ultimate rarity. It's a card that has both the front AND the back upside-down.

The real question is "Does anyone have a copy of Topsy Turvy from Unhinged where both sides have the same orientation?" I'm not sure which side would be upside down in that case.

I have opened a couple boosters with upside down cards in them.

I wish I had seen the original post, I may have been able to shed some light on this kind of "misprint".

We like to visualize a perfect mechanical sequence that is always predictable. When I visited CM that was pretty much what I saw.

However, the cards, after being cut must be collated and packaged. This process is occasionally interrupted. Mechanical problems, quality control inspections or just to show wide eyed visitors how things work. Cards went into hoppers by rarity from cutting and were then collated. At any point a human could interfere by taking, say, a handful of rares or a single common out of a hopper and inspecting them/it. They could then be returned to the hopper if the inspector was satisfied. Were they at the same 180 degree facing as when picked up? Maybe not. I suspect that the only concern was to make sure they were right side up. Other orientation was not important. Thus, cards 180 degrees out of sync were quite possible and are no indication that whole runs were "upside down".

This information is a decade old and relates only to that time in history and to that printer.

Urza's Saga. a third of a tournament deck box had the commons miscut and top/bottom flip. a THIRD of a WHOLE BOX of URZA'S SAGA. Terrible.

I have a few more misprints, too. foils of Rift Bolt and Ivory Giant (Time Spiral) with severe miscut (of 5% top, 95% bottom), and a foil Brilliant Ultimatum (SOA) that the sorting machine almost ate (the back is gouged quite well, almost like railroad tracks). A top-crimped Phyrexian Colossus (8th), too. and I want to say I have a foil where the foil is crinkled on the face of the card, but I can't find it right now.

then again, with as many boxes as I've opened, I can't always expect perfection.

Don't know which thread to answer this under.

Please remember. Yes there was at least a whole sheet of these miss cut.
BUT these are escapees from the trash bin. You may have the only one still in existance. There is no way to tell how many were recaptured and met their fate in the shredder/incinerator.
