As I remember last year there were two versions of each deck but it was impossible to tell which version a box was without opening it.

I wish that was a D12 promo deck.

Unfortunately this type of promo decks dates back to 10th Edition or Magic 2010, can't remember exactly. Both deck types contain only commons and uncommons and M11 versions were a great improvement in quality. I can't remember if there was anything useful in the older ones but M11 decks contain cards like Doom Blade, Plummet and Thieving Magpie.
