I'm putting another order together soon. But you have to buy complete sets from here to get the discount that she offers. Otherwise it is $50 per proof.

I suppose you will make it to 4 complete sets to get the full discount of 40 % ?
For me just looking for 3 cards this still is a bad deal.
Anyone else needs single APs from 5th english, Ice Age Spanish or Legends ?

I just saw that she changed her discount program. You used to be able to get to 60% off. I'm not going to do it for 40%. So my efforts are done with this.

You are right, she changed it on October 20th 2013 ); , before there were 50 % and 60 % discount offers.

To bad. I ordered $3000 in proofs last year. And was going to do the same this year. Now she gets $.00

You clearly see, artists are no business people.

With 60 % Discount i sold cards for 3000 $ - > conclusion, my very high prices are to low and i will remove some discount......

Instead of:

My Discount model seems to work, i even sell my quite expensive cards at huge lots and dont have much trouble with small single orders.

My impression is that Melissa Benson is quite smart in doing business.

I wish more artists would have prices like her. On the one hand, it sucks to pay so much, but it's even worse if you can't find them at all, only because they were thrown out for $2 and ended up in random bulk lots in the loft. I'm still looking for Lightning Bolts.

Sorry, just got to say this.

1) In general artists are too gentle of spirit to be good business men/women.
2) APs have been WAY underpriced by the artists for most of the history of WotC.
3) Any time the creator of an item (art/software/any IP) receives less than the actual value of the item at present market price, I feel an injustice has been done.
4) Any time a historic item becomes more scarce the price should go up. That is only fair (check what happens in the gun and coin markets).

5) Discounts on valuable items? If you want to buy 5 sealed Alpha decks from me I can tell you right now what the discount will be......

Things are worth what people are willing to pay for them. I have my limits. For that kind of money I can buy original art. Choices.

At the 60% I was going to buy 6 sets. At 40% it is 0.

Some artist will get my money. Just wont be Melissa this time.
