4th Edition Misprint / Test Print

Post by thebradleyxace » Mon Oct 08, 2012 6:26 pm

I picked a few cards up from some one stating that they were pocketed from Carti Mundi. I was skeptical until I noticed how the sheets were printed. Has anyone ever seen this before?

This is only one example of some of the odd things in this small collection I picked up.

I am pretty sure the way that they are cut allows them to match up perfectly both upsidedown and rightsideup and you will see that when you flip them around in that exact pattern they are in now the cards will be facing opposite directions. Jason

Edit, and when I say opposite directions it means they were not the same sheet.

yah, only problem is that they were in fact printed that way....

you can see they don't line up if you flip one of them:

I suspect these are also from the Rivals box set sheet, not 4th edition.
See this thread http://www.magiclibrarities.net/forum/v ... php?t=3623
Still very cool, and I can't explain why the sheet would be laid out this way

Maybe the four decks were printed on the same sheet in alternating rotations, so that when they were cut, it was easier to sort into their respective decks for packing?

The rivals sets were all printed with 1996. These are in fact 1995. Let's see if presenting new evidence will confuse the situation more, or less.

These rules cards come from the same bunch. However, I can find no information on them anywhere.

If you can answer what these are, we may be able to determine the rest.

Although the US Rivals boxset was released in July 1996, the cards contained within them were all standard 4th edition cards with the 1995 copyright date. Only the Introductory Two-Player boxsets released in the UK and European markets had cards printed with a 1996 copyright date.
