Original Art Values
Hello,
I have 2 pieces of original art by Anson Maddocks: Maze of Ith and Spinal Villian.
What type of value do each of these have?
Thanks for your input.

Mostly, the value depends on the popularity of the work.
I was just at Scott Fischer's website not too long ago looking at his original artworks page. Apparently, the Serra Avenger he did for the Time Spiral Series was sold at $5000.
An original piece, Folk of An-Hava from homelands, by Julie Baroh was sold on ebay recently. That one only fetched $100.
It's highly subjective... it's worth what the collector is willing to pay

Hot damn. Ron Spencer is not a cheap artist... usually his art STARTS at about $800.l0qii wrote:I saw that. I almost bid myselfTha_Gunslinga wrote:Sliver Queen just went for under 800. Someone got lucky.
I hae found that prices on MTG artwork vary quite a bit. Factors include:
-the artist. Some of the well known artists command (and get) a larger chunk of cash for their work.
-size & medium of the work
-playability of the card
-recognisability of the card/ artwork itself. I mean, face it, the original Llanowar Elves is far more recognisable than the other works, for instance
-condition & presentability of the work itself
But really, artwork, man, if there is anything that falls under "it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it" statement, this is it. But $800 for the Sliver Queen?
