Not sure. Volkan has no mention at all on his website:l0qii wrote:Do you suppose they commissioned a whole set? It seems silly to redo the art for just one. It does look nice.

I tried to take a stab in the dark and see if they got him to do all 5.
Anyone going to GenCon this year that can poke around more on this at all? See if WOTC has had other arts commissioned at all specially?

Ralph: By chance did these images get archived anywhere? These are rare items like the 1996 World Championship card...unique as they would say.Ralph Herold wrote:For three years now, they have commissioned a single card of the Power Nine. First Black Lotus, then Timetwister, then Ancestral Recall. Now we have Mox Pearl. I am sure the other Mox cards will come, but only one per year.

Thanks. Does anyone have a pic of the color corrected Twister?

I would not imagine any "color correction" was done, since the winner got the original piece - http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/daily/bd138 .mintcollector wrote:Thanks. Does anyone have a pic of the color corrected Twister?

From the title iabove the color Twister pic:
So I was curious if there had been a better pic. The one archivist provided with the 2004 Vintage Champ holding it is not very weel taken and you cannot see the detail at the distance. Maybe one was never posted. Finally, here’s a raw scan (not yet color corrected) of how the final version of the new Timetwister art turned out.

To me, Dan Frazier deserved the work! He is a card signing fanboy or fangirl's dream. In addition, he was there at the beginning!random wrote:Looks like they had the Original Artists do the Artwork up until now.
I'd think Dan Frazier could use the work.
He is successful enough that he probably doesn't need the work so if he passed, then "Nice Artwork" goes to the new guy!
