Question about different Mirage printings
Is it possible to tell the difference from the boosters/starters whether you will open the dark print (rough) or light print (smooth) print variations? Are the two print variations a result of printings in Belgium & US?
I believe these different styles of printing were also found for Visions & Urza's Saga? I know there was an old topic about this, but could not find it (I will admit, I didn't look too hard).
Thanks for any info

I think this shows it. One on the left is darker (obviously) and rougher texture, one on right is light and smooth texture.

Re: Question about different Mirage printings
I just found a whole pile of these in a box of Visions if you're interested.berkumps wrote:I believe these different styles of printing were also found for Visions & Urza's Saga?

You can tell which printing it is for starters by looking at the gold foil. All of the made in Belgium starters I own have the gold foil closer to the middle of the deck.

But now I guess the question is...
Which batch/ printing of these cards is the prining that is EXTREMELY dark? Several Mirage & Visions cards are so dark that you can't even read them.
And, this light/ dark issue also exists in Urza's Saga. You can't help but notice it in the green & blue cards.

Tempest
Yes, only the green and blue cards show it very well. I have also some white Tempest cards that have this dark/light differences.fvzappa wrote:And, this light/ dark issue also exists in Urza's Saga. You can't help but notice it in the green & blue cards.
