Probable cut-up Revised sheet on ebay

So, let me get this straight. He has 9 miscuts for sale, 8 of which are from one set, but they're all differently miscut? Out of the 8, they correspond to at least 5 different miscut patterns, some of which I have never seen before, ever. I mean, seriously, what are the odds that this is legit?

I was wondering how long it would take someone to buy the uncut revised sheets from Cardhaus after that miscut U.Sea went for >$1k. They had at least 2 sheet sets of R/U/C from what I remember, and they ceased to have them shortly after the miscut Sea. Coincidence?

I think the white thing on the front is the sheet edge.

I question the integrity of any seller who uses such blatant keyword spamming in their titles. Even if these were legit, I wouldn't buy them.

I reported all of these a few days ago for keyword spamming, along with around 40 other auctions, however Ebay made it nice and easy to report such items once I had reported >10 items. I had to enter a validation code 3 times for each item reported. I guess Ebay's message to me was:

"We appreciate the effort of members like you in reporting listings that violate the ToS, but seriously, stop making extra work for us and screw off!"

On another note, I'm considering listing Japanese foils for auction using a title like: "Japanese Foil Watery Grave - NOT No Japanese".

I would love to see blow-ups of the edges and corners. That can give you a sense of who did the cutting (Carta Mundi or someone else).

This is one reason why I don't collect things like miscuts. I think the perfectly cut card should be worth more, not the horribly botched or purposely miscut one.

At the prices some of these miscuts are going for, it will just be a matter of time until the old protection sheets (badly printed partial or full sheets that were used to protect good sheets during shipping) start coming to market by the card.

Ben you are correct this is not a white card next to the mountain it's the edge of the sheet.

I know this seller personally and he doesn't have or know anyone that cuts sheets. He's just been seeking out miscuts for the past 8 months and these are the cards he's come across. The only reason he's selling them is because he's hit hard times.

FWIW,

We sold a set of revised uncut sheets with MTG backs in April of this year to a buyer in Wilmington NC, the same location as the seller of these misprints.

I have no idea if this Ebay seller is the same person as the buyer of the sheets but my Spidey Sense is tingling.........

berkumps,

It isn't to stop you, a reasonable person reporting actually misdeeds. It is to slow down the non-reasonable person submitting massive lists via an automated process to screw with eBay. I suspect they try to check each submission, so anything that helps minimize fake submissions and still allows real submissions is a "good thing" in the eyes of eBay.

An autobot submit 4,200 fake accounts to a forum I administer once, then started to post links and images to porn sites all through the forum. Now everyone wanting an account has to enter an extra key word into a new field to submit an account request. And I personally have to activate the account prior to the submitter posting to the forum.

It isn't a personal attack on the people attempting to register with the forum. It is just a baseline security measure.

Best regards,

Rainsford

I can understand the reasoning behind requiring a validation code to prevent automated attacks. What I don't understand, is that if I just got the last 30 validation codes correct, and have been made to re-login to my account several times, I'm either:

a) not a bot, and am reporting honestly
b) not a bot, but out of my mind to waste such time to report items that don't violate ToS
c) a bot, and smart enough to get every validation code right, so what's the point?

I guess I'm just frustrated that "reporting the chaffe" isn't an easier process.

Volcanic look odd to anybody else? Don't know if it's damaged or not, but the bottom of the card looks to be indented on either side.

I think that's just the scan. Another interesting thing is that these are ALL playable cards. Now, maybe the seller bought them all because they were playable, but you'd think he would have ended up with some random unplayables at some point, and would rather sell those off first because of their unplayability.

Yeah, I've been chatting with the guy off and on, and apparently he has more miscut duals and other high end misprints, but he's just "testing the market" after he saw the underground sea you bought for $1K. Something seems kind of fishy to me. I think it's more than coincidental.
