Olesch's Collection
Hello all,
I decided to take some pictures of my collection this easter.
My main interests has been in the early sets and I have so far collected full sets of Beta, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends and The Dark. I also have additional copies of some cards like playset of the Beta Duals etc.
All cards in my collection are NM/Mint-Pack Fresh! Many of the cards have been graded PSA/BGS 9 or greater. One can ask why I have cracked graded cards? Well it is because that I do not like graded cards, I want my collection to be unitary and also because I know that the cards are not fake and they meet up according to my demands. Finding cards in this condition these days are very hard but I think you all are aware of that.
None of the cards are signed, I want them to be clean!
Taking good pictures is quite time consuming. I will take some better pictures later on when I have more time.
Here are some pictures, enjoy:
Beta, Red
Beta, Black
Beta, Blue
Beta, Green
Beta, White
Beta, Artifacts
Beta, Lands

Very nice too!
Thanks for taking the time to spread them out for the photos, it must have taken you ages!
How do you store them when they are not spread out across your table?
Looking at those sets I see I have quite a few of the cards, mostly commons and uncommons which I picked up back in the day. I guess the rares are very expensive which is why I never got around to completing my sets. Might be time to revisit them!

Thanks alot!
It has taken some time and effort to put it all togheter and it is always fun when things are appreciated!
Yes it took some time to line them all up like that. But I felt I wanted to post them here on librarities. It is always fun to see all impresive collections and I wanted to contribute to that.
When not line up I store them in BCW storage boxes:
There is of course a top to the box as well.
Takes some space but they are well protected.

Do you put them in a water/fireproof safe? Your collection has quite a value...olesch wrote:

It is not very convenient, but when the prices startet to break through the roof, I took all 'valuables' cards out of the binders. I don't fear theft, but water and fire scares me.

you don't fear theft, eh? Your profile says you live in Germany. Can you give me an idea of what part of Germany you live in?pp wrote:Do you put them in a water/fireproof safe? Your collection has quite a value...olesch wrote:

No, you maybe wouldn't believe it, but my garage is never locked, and my bike too. I live in a village near to a city in south Germany, and I feel safe.dry cereal wrote:

But the reason why I don't fear theft is that the possibility that the thief knows what these little colored cards are, tends to 0 ;-)
p.s. of course there is pickle living 5 steps from my house, so if now there will be smth missing, then it's Richard

I have actually just come from the silver stackers website and there is a big warning that has just been put up there.
It goes something like this...
A number of photos on Silver Stackers have been identified as containing EXIF data that includes GPS coordinates of residential locations. These appear to be photos that members are taking primarily with iPhones that have "location services enabled".
Basically you're uploading pictures of gold and silver with what's as good as your home address embedded in them.
Apparently lots of normal cameras also have this handy feature. Your best defense against thieves is not telling anyone you have something worth stealing.
Now I have to go back and check the pictures I have uploaded!

Campfire Desert
Great collection,
But I see the 'campfire Desert' missing from AN. One copy of Desert on every sheet of AN had a small white dot on it, right on top of one of the dunes. Some collectors count it as a different version along with the light/dark ones.
I also notived that you did not have the different versions of Runesword. There's the hairy version, the hairless version and a sort of hybrid version... On some versions of Runesword there's a thin line on one side of the textbox. It looks exactly like a hair had been stuck to the printing press.
These were my only constructive comments (other than "Why only two Stasis?")

When a heroin addict burgled my apartment, the conversation with my roommate went something like this:pp wrote:No, you maybe wouldn't believe it, but my garage is never locked, and my bike too. I live in a village near to a city in south Germany, and I feel safe.dry cereal wrote:

him: we were burgled
me: are my magic cards there?
him: yes, but your laptop is gone
me: but the magic cards are there
him: yes, I presume they have little street value
I had a pile of power sitting on my dresser...
