Most of it, yes:

There was a time not long ago when the MTGO cube had the P9 in it, and it used the same art as will be coming out with Vintage Masters. At the the time that the P9 came out in the MTGO cube, some of the art was new.l0qii wrote:It is for Magic Online only, so no worries here. I don't play MTGO very much but I approve of how they have routinely been releasing old cards in that format. It'll be interesting to see what else made the set.
Also, we have seen all this P9 art before right?

Gary, you're an old stick in the mud!!mystical_tutor wrote:Call me an old stick in the mud but I really like the original art better. Specially the Moxs.

Agreed, they would look out of place to new players.ouallada wrote:Some of the new art is pretty sweet, and more in line with the newer art direction. The older moxes were more elegant in design, remnants from simpler times etc etc.
Old players and collectors like me would prefer the older versions.
With any luck a sucessful run online might mean they would do something in a card version for the anniversary or something similar...
I'm tempted to believe it's another way of testing the market. In a first step, they did it for MM and cards didn't lose value. Now they launch P9 for MODO. Third step will be, "hey, it works," and we see them reprinting Legacy staples.

I collect land cards, just that.

Well they would be great for casual play and could be used as proxies for all those who have the real thing.
The only thing is they did unbalance the game play. Although a first turn win would be great it would be terrible if it happenned too often.
The other argument is that whoever had the best cards would automatically win, I guess with more of them out there this would balance out.
I still think that if they were printed they will be hoarded, maybe in case they become tournament legal one day.

It's weird they didn't try and milk the P9 by only releasing 1 or a few at a time... Unless the set is surreal/massive in size LED will remain the most $$ card on MTGO.
Why print up a Vintage Masters set when you can just reprint Arabian Nights followed by Antiquities and then Legends? Sales could go through the roof! You could lay off all the game designers there at WOTC for a few years and just reprint the greatest hits of MTG. Replace 2015-16 with a Beta reprint.Don't shoot the messenger, please!
